I really liked this game. It feels sooo good. So I beat the final boss. Dying in this game feels fun and interesting, I was never upset with it. Fighting system feels cool, and I feel the attack of my character, especially with this good sound design, and death animation. But as others were saying there is some issues. Camera should be higher, game needs setting menu for sound and graphics, and fix the jump. Wall jump is fine I guess but you should tell the player how it works, it's hard to realize that player should not move at any direction, face the wall, and click spacebar at the same time.  Bosses are cool, but the last one I defeated with bug, there is attack range for boss, so I was not in range of the boss but also able to use by purification ability so it took some time but I killed it. The text is unreadable in main menu. The design of the background building looks amazing, and this is an interesting idea. I hope you will fix all the issues and improve this game!

It's a good Castlevania-like game with 3d graphics. You nailed most of the gameplay mechanics of metroidvania almost perfectly i think. Gaining new abilities as you progress through the game, branching level design, bosses etc. The flaws of the game as i observed were:
-Lighting doesn't look very good. It's too bright on some parts, too dark on some. The main character radiates light for some reason. I didn't like it very much.
-When you jump, you move too much forward. It causes you to fall of the ledges sometimes. That's a little frustrating

-Music is too loud and sound is crackling sometimes
-Level design may need some work. In one place a building obstruct the camera view
-There'a bug on the demon boss fight which freezes the game. It happens when you're hit with a falling fireball

These are my thoughts on your game. I think it's a pretty decent game for a gamejam despite it's flaws. I think you did a good job and wish you luck on your future works

I'm happy you still enjoyed despite the flaws! Thanks for the feedback! I agree with it.

Uao, this is huge.  Very well done, is very engaging and nice to play, especially with a joypad.
I like very much the 3D concept and the amount of different enemies.
The only issue is that the grame froze during the boss fight.
Good job!

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed! :D

(Played with a Ps4 compatible Joypad) funny game, i very like the boss battle even often it kill me without visible collision.

seems inspired by ritual of the night (it's a game i don't like though i played it till the end). to improve: -I don't like the graphic style of the game. -the video camera points to the feet of the character and maintains too much visibility to the ground compared to the sky. - I like the fast pace in games of this type too but it shouldn't hinder the action sequences. without changing the speed of movement you would just set a different response on the joystick through the dead-zone. I found it very difficult to land accurately on small platforms. -immense map and no reference points also due to internal areas too similar to each other. better the exterior. to add a minimap or at least a radar -enemies don't have takedowns and this doesn't pair well with the action considering the character does NOT have a backdash system to dodge. dash is also useless for crossing enemies. -enemies have no drops and this in the end made me continue killing only those I was forced to do to continue

Most of these things are known but unfortunately we didn't have the time to fully test and polish but we learned our lesson! Thanks for playing the game!

I Suggest to  adjust the scene light. Somewhere is too dark to find monster .

The game is not bad.

This is a pretty cool entry and interesting to see a 2D Unreal game. I like the aesthetic, a hellish dark souls.

Some thoughts:

- Character movement felt a little janky. The character moves a little too fast given the level design. I found myself running head first into zombies. I think if you want the character that fast, you may need to rework the levels to fit with that speed.

- I think you should add 'coyote time' to the platforming. Give the player a fraction of a second after they leave a platform to continue jumping.

- We beat the first boss, but from a cheese spot where the boss couldn't hit the character. Might want to investigate that.

Overall, good job!

Thanks for playing it! We couldn't fully complete or vision for this game as we started late and had to rush it and barely had time to test it, but we're happy we made and we sure learned a lot! Will keep the feedback in mind!

Some remarks:

  1.  Terrible character control (the character has a high speed + speed in the air is equal to speed on the ground)
  2. It was worth adding a mini-map (I was a little confused, but I got to the boss)
  3. The music is too loud
Developer

Thanks for the feedback and playing our game!

1. Character control speed I think it's a very personal choice, I particularly don't like slow games. Also it's better to navigate through the map which turned out to be a little bigger than expected, also we wanted to facilitate combat and high speed was one of the design choices (:

2. Unfortunately we ran out of time as we started late (40 days to make) and didn't have time to come up with a map, but we would love to have one in other circunstances.

3. The overall volume is balanced properly so maybe turning the volume of the game down  would be a smart choice.
