Great cat animation and all background graphics! Love this cyberpunk setting :D
Thank you, thank you!
Cats seem to be a trend in the MVM community.
There's honestly not much to say here. Art was excellent, music fit super well. I appreciate the controller support,
movement felt really fluid, and you could meow. It's fluff, but that's a plus in my book. Amazing entry.
Thank you very much! Very hyped to read that you enjoyed it! Funny enough: the meow button was the *first* thing we all unanimously decided HAD to be in the game XD
Maybe cats are a trend in this community because Metroidvanias encourage curious exploration, visually marking terrain, and jumping reeeaaaally high to places you're "not supposed to go to"...all traits that cats exhibit?
This was heaps of fun, and it looked beautiful. I really loved the pixel art and the colour palette, it looked really effective. You've done a lot of work creating the variety of backdrops, and it paid off. The running animation looked really good. I only got 9 secrets. Was there a map? If there was I couldn't find the button or upgrade. I would've really liked to explore more if I had a map.
Great work. I hope you expand upon it further.
Glad you had fun! There is a map, but we didn't have time to implement it by the deadline. Should we expand further, it will definitely be added!
Really had fun with this game ! 10 secrets.
The palette and visuals are really nice !
I would have made the game a bit harder (maybe less life). The collision with the very large player sprite are a bit hard to handle.
Excellent job on the level design and metroid vania feeling.
Congrats !
Hmmm, I wonder if difficulty settings would be something to add if we continue the project. Regardless, thank you for playing :-)
loved this!
So glad! Thanks :-)
Everything about this game is excellent in my opinion 5 stars.
The retro style environment , the soundtrack and sound design. Absolutely perfect.
The shift of scenery between different levels together with the soundtrack also very nice.
The game design is also very good. A lot of cues when you are in a different place and where I might find the upgrades for doublejump and the attack.
Good job.
Wow, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much :-) I appreciate you taking the time.
This was a great game, especially for 1 month. I collected 12 out of 19 secrets on my first attempt. If there was one feature I would add it would be in-game map of areas that I had already explored, as I was often getting lost.
Thank you! A map will definitely be included if the project continues.
Really excellent work! The pixel art, neon aesthetic, and vapor-wavey sound-design, all contribute to the incredible cyber-punk aesthetic. The level design was a nice balance of branching paths, back-trackable secrets, and new abilities. My one complaint is that I would love to see a mini-map, and maybe more defining landmarks in some of the rooms, as it was a bit easy to get lost. I ended the game with 10/19 secrets, so I am excited to go back to try to 100% it. Also, automatic bonus points for the kitty cat :)
There can never be enough kitty cats :-) Thank you for playing, and for the kind words! A map was planned, but deadlines nixed it. Definitely something we'll be adding if the project continues.
Great game!
The controllers felt very smooth and pretty easy to get used to, as well as the upgrades, and the art and sound design all conveyed the atmosphere excellently.
I think the only criticism I would add would be that it felt really easy to get lost specially on the upper areas of the map, I found myself walking in circles for a long time before finding the attack upgrade. But this seems like it's been pointed out by quite a few other comments already though, so I have nothing to add on that I think. I feel you, deadlines are merciless.
Oh, and not sure if it's a bug but the left analogue doesn't work for movement on my end, only the DPad. It's not something crucial though, just thought I'd mention it since it's listed as supported in the description.
Overall, I had a lot of fun :)
Thank you for the kind words and feedback! Not sure why the left analogue isn't working (I'm not the programmer), but duly noted if we continue the project!
