★ Enjoyment: 4/5

I had fun, but in a way, I was exploiting a bug where you can jump again after attacking. I didn't actually use the syringe and thought that the syringe was a dud (it wasn't)

★ Design: 4/5

Changing between abilities using inventory item is quite unique.

★ Presentation: 4/5

The art style is ok.

Cute graphics, nice sound and jazzy background music! Unfortunately I didn’t get the DNA/syringe concept and so ended up not playing too much after collecting some and not knowing what to do with it. It seems I was supposed to be able to fly somehow as that’s the only way I could see to get to another part of the level over a tunnel of spikes.

Yeah, making things clear in games is hard, but obviously important. You want to give enough detail so players will connect the dots but not give so much that their eyes roll back into their head waiting to be able to play. But I guess when it doubt, over communicating a bit too much to be sure things are clear is probably the safer option.

We’d love it if you tried our game out and let us know if we made anything unclear! Or point out anything else that could be better! Thanks!

I think the premise of collecting monster DNA to active abilities is clever, but it was not explained well, so I didn't quite understand how to take advantage. More feedback when using the syringes (some sort of sound of effect) would help. After clicking on them they seem to simply disappear, so it was unclear that anything had happened.

I agree with some of the other comments here, too, that the player feel is a little floaty and hard to control. The character seemed to gain a bit of momentum while jumping that would carry it past where I wanted to go and letting off the movement key didn't reduce that momentum as much as I would like.

A good start, though.  There's potential in there!

Alright, so there's a weird clicking noise when you attack way in the left ear that got kind of annoying, it was like a sharp click. I also interacted with the computer int he beginning and was stuck for a while until I spammed enter and was suddenly free. Couldn't make it full screen either, so maybe it's on my end, but I wasn't quite sure really what was going on at all.

Is the top left supposed to be cut off?

Last negative, movement was a little too floaty for me.

Otherwise, great job! Getting something in like this is super difficult and you made it. Music is fun and boppy and the design is cute as all heck. Good job! Hope you play ours!

Thanks for playing and giving feedback. I'm looking forward to going back and fixing a lot of these issues.

In the mean time, I'll definitely be checking out your teams game

on first pick up of an item, having the ai tablet announce what was found would be cool or some info on the item when clicked in inventory.

That was the original intent for the role of the AI character. Didn't make the cut before the deadline unfortunately, but could be present in a future update.

This is a nice little game! Short and sweet with an interesting design. The sprites were cute and the animation was pretty good.

I would have liked a bit more in-game guidance, especially with the DNA powerups. I used one at the station without realizing that it is only effective for one room so I had to start over. I wasn't a big fan of the controls; I think it would have been much easier with something like z,x,c and the arrow keys. Several times I accidentally moved the mouse outside the small window and wasn't able to attack. There were also some visibility issues, like when the health bar blocks the exit to the upper room.

Overall I like the idea and I think this has some great potential. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for playing! In game guidance was the thing I was most bummed I didn't have time to add. If I have any future updates it'll be added for sure

I liked your art and DNA mechanics. In my opinion character is not controllable enough when in air and because of that I had issues when jumping on smaller platforms. I also found quite interesting bug that is, you can airjump if you press attack and jump at the same time in the air.

I really liked how fluid player attack animation felt.

I was wondering if anyone would find the jump-attack glitch. I thought it would be hard enough to find to worry about fixing it before the deadline

Thanks for playing!

Fun!  I am looking forward to exploring more of the ship.
