Did you actually end up getting the prize money for this game? trying to figure out how legit these high prize game jams are.

Developer

Sure did man. That money is going towards developing forgecraft further in the hopes of getting it in line for a steam release. I'm happy to chat more about this over discord to help iron out any doubts or further questions - come join the MetaFab discord or add me directly:: Soundy777#9833

Really cool and fun game. I can tell you put a lot of time and work into it, there's a lot going on here! The only thing is when I first played the registration UI hung on screen after the game loaded in and I had to relaunch.  The material handling is definitely my least favorite part about this game. The game overall is very polished but we really should be able to right click and throw on our shoulder and then right click to drop, or a cart system or something. Also I feel the systems are just a bit too complex without any instruction. I was able to figure out to cut down a tree and cut it on the tablesaw, but I cannot figure out the metal situation lol. I went to the mines, got what looks like gold? The only metal I can find to harvest. I tried putting it in the lit forge, then on the anvil, hit with hammer, nothing. Tried pressing E to change the recipes.. Not sure where to go from here. Also my first order was kind of complex, plate armor and 2 other things. Lots of content here. Didn't really get to experience the Metafab integration so cannot comment, but I assume the money is top right, and maybe items are all on chain. Take my long message not as complaining but as a compliment because I had a lot to talk about!

Dayum! This is a wealth of information for which I'm very grateful! Thats a great suggestion to add some sort of carrying slot or cart system & I'll look into adding in this. You're very right about the lack of tutorialization and that was something I just had to sideline due to time but did want to address more. I'm really glad you dropped in the time to try out so much of it & the metafab integration comes in the form of a currency reward for completing orders which can be spent to unlock the additional area of the mines. I'll be taking all of this onboard going forward & want to thank you again for such well articulated feedback! :)

The gameplay is really good and there is a lot of stuff to do in here! Mechanics and gameplay are simple but fun! Few issues i personally have is that u gotta pick up items individually, one at a time and it becomes tedious later on when you need 2-4 bars for 1 item and for that you need to go back and forth 12 times... another issue is that the quests are far too long with some needing 3-4 tools being made withing a very short period of time. But overall a really well made and polished game!

Developer

Appreciate your kind words and detailed feedback! Balancing & UX was something that got sidelined and was in dire need of some iteration. I'm taking this project forward and will take note of your input, thanks again for taking the time to detail out your experience :)

This looks great. How do I start gathering materials?

Developer(+1)

Equip the axe and harvest wood from the trees or Equip the pickaxe to harvest ore from the rocks in the mines. Pressing the numbers 1,2 & 3 allows you to equip different tools. \o/
