Graphics are fantastic, I really like the concept of the game and the spin on the theme of "Don't kill anything" by not hitting any pedestrians while getting to the finish in a very small time limit. The sound was also a pleasure to listen to and fit the environment of the game well. The hover-like feel of the movement was excellently done, and it was a great game to play!

We appreciate your great review! thanks! glad you liked it. We turned the theme of the jam into the aim of the game sort of, which was the plan from the start... the hover like feel was not planned from the start :D originally we were going to use a normal car and the pedestrians were going to be human! but running people over is just not ethical so we changed it to hover cars and aliens, I think it worked well. Thanks again :)

Fun game! :D It's great that the car decelerates so quickly, to give the player enough control to avoid unnecessary frustration from hitting pedestrians who just manage to run in front of the car. (I was wanting to beep at them to clear them out of the way--perhaps that could be a feature!)

I love the sound effects and the colours.

As Ducky has said, it's a shame about the lamppost collision, but these things happen, and once the player knows, they can make sure to give them a wider berth.

I did get a bit of slowdown towards the end, when I had 120 pedestrians--I'm not sure how polygon-heavy they are, but with them being small and fairly uniformly green, perhaps they might be able to be a bit lower-poly.

As Ben said, the drifting is really fun, and it'd be great to be able to go at high speed and do some intense drifting, and having some kind of points system like Maria said would certainly ease frustration when hitting a pedestrian, so the fun isn't immediately over. I love the slowdown effect when that does happen, however!

Well done! :D

Thanks for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed our game :) as you know its hard to implement all the things you would like to in such a short period but we did our best, obviously with a little more polish we could have addressed the issues and added more functionality like scores etc. We plan on continuing the game after the jam so the feedback is just great, thanks again.

p.s. before the navigation was implemented properly I had 200 pedestrians free-roaming the street... nightmare!

Really fun to play, although I feel the collision for the lamp posts are a bit too big, as I found myself hitting the lamp post when I wasn't actually hitting it. The car also felt a little too floaty at times, but not too much that it wasnt fun to play.

Developer

Appreciate the comments! yes the lamppost collision is off, we know this but were not sure why as the post has no collider on it!?! the collision is set to the mesh so maybe a calculation error or something we missed. We wanted the car to be 'floaty' mainly for added difficulty and for an element of player skill to be involved in the driving. Glad you had fun with it!

really fun for a game made in a week.... loads of stuff could be added to make it more entreating, overall concept is fun and enjoyable

It's quite a fun little game! Love the colours. I think maybe you could've added a system point and gained points at the checkpoints and lost points if you hit pedestrians. Other than that, good job! :)

Developer

Thankyou :D I deffo agree and something we wanted to implement and will be after jam. It was  stretch too far with the game breaking on the 11th hour lol

The car feels great when you drift around corners, the pedestrians more of an annoyance than challenge. I feel like this would be better for time trails on maps with lots of large turns of drifting.  Overall, a fun game.

Thankyou, sadly we couldn't both work the game engine as issues with the github server I created stopped the game engine files getting shared. More Ai is what we plan to use more of to push game further.
