I like the fighting/combat mechanic really well.  It was difficult to know whether I was doing damage to the first boss/tree or not. I was sure that "bash" did damage and "defend" is self-explanatory. However, i wasn't 100% sure what the other options do.

Very interesting!
I'm not big on the "button pressing" type of gameplay usually, but this was still quite nice.
Really liked that there was decent amount of options in the fights.

This game was so charming! I really dug the concept for combat, though I felt it could've used some more feedback, and wow it got really tough. I'd recommend adding some sort of screen shake/or damage animation for the enemies, and making the damage numbers stick out more. These are pretty minor points though, I'd actually love you see more games from you in this style!

Glad you found it charming and enjoyed the combat. I really appreciate the suggestions on how to provide more feedback. I hadn't considered adding a shake to show damage. Its a trick I'll keep in mind for next time.

The concept is really interesting, but the gamefeel is really frustrating : no feedback on damages done, only attacking seems effective and the difficulty is very high. It's a shame, because I quickly quit the game.

I'm sorry to hear you quit. What part did you find difficult? Also what other feedback should I include for damage? I thought the numbers popping up after hitting the right buttons or the Groovy popping up after long combos would be enough. I clearly need more feedback if its a problem, though.

I didn't notice the numbers at first, and to be honest, I found the first fight already difficult : the arrow are fast, and you must have all of them. Maybe you could just make fight easier (slower arrow, monsters with less life) and add a sound feedback ?

Adding sound feedback is certainly something I'll consider for the future. Thank you for the advice.

This is super charming. Love all the cool mechanics you have in battle and that groovy music. Super super awesome work for a first game! I strongly encourage you to keep going with that.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm a bit confused about what you're encouraging me to keep going with, but I'll certainly be trying my hardest on future games.

I meant to keep developing games, haha.

This game freaking rocks! I haven't seen Evil Dead but I'm a huge Mother 3 fan. I'm amazed that this is your first game because of just how original it feels. I love weird games and I can't think of a recent indie game that had scratched that itch like this one did. Dancing around the keyboard to fight enemies was awesome and challenging. I wish you only the best of luck in your future games.

Thank you so much for the kind words. It means a lot to me knowing someone enjoyed this as much as you did. It really makes all the work feel worth it. I love Mother 3 and the part of the battles where you tap to the beat inspired the keyboard aspect of this game. Best of luck to you as well. I was quite enjoying Snake X Jack.

Great job on the logo, very Mother-esque!
