How does your game fit the Magical Girl genre?
Yuuto Ichika [main character] is a magician with telekinesis (very loosely/abstractly shown by her bomb), Crossette [1st boss] wields fire magic

Which theme(s) do you pick?
I am Legion for We Are Many [1], Under Pressure [4], and We'll Meet Again [6], DEFIED Death Be not Proud [3]

How does your game fit those theme(s)?
[1] Air enemies are effectively unlimited outsides of boss fights and only held back by how faster the player can defeat them, [4] One of the game modes involves clearing the stage before time runs out, [6] The final boss is the first and last character the protagonist meets, [3] Defied by encouraging the player to self-destruct to regain bomb ammo and inflict damage

If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
n/a

Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Most assets were made during the jam, certain sprites (bullets, explosions, items, UI) are pre-existing, SFX (except for voice acting) are pre-existing

Ha! This was fun! It's a very polished game that gives a pleasant experience throughout. I think I have lost my touch tho considering I lost a credit in stage 1......

The music is definitely the strongest point of the game. The title screen feels very arcade-y, and the stage themes are just awesome!

The title screen baited me into thinking that the art would stay that way throughout the game, but I guess it's unrealistic to expect that in a game jam.

I think I had an issue while playing though... the top part seems to get cropped.

Thanks for participating! This was very good!

Thanks for playing!

Could you post a screenshot of the cropped screen and what your resolution is?

I think my screen resolution is 2160x1440; it does not matter though because this is the case even in windowed mode no matter how I resize the window

This was shockingly good. The art is really nice, and the whole game does a great job of committing to its chosen style. The gameplay seems well executed but I can't really say if it's good or not personally.

If there's one complaint I have, it's that it does feel like the story starts in the middle a bit.

I don't get on well with bullet hells, though, and even easy mode was beyond my limit. I made it through the first level with one continue but didn't even attempt the second.

Honestly, I think this is one of very few games that were actually entertaining to me. Lastly I haven't played games much, but, well, what can I say?

The audio is great, especially the sfx, which I adore. Graphics are cute, gameplay cool.

Everything in this game looks so clean and complete, ideal for like, a month.

I have played the game 3 times before rating it. In the begining is quite difficult ( I play normal mode). But after I know how to use the bomb, it becomes easier. It's exciting, energetics. The music enhances the atmosphere and the story has its humour.  I like the game.

I think it will be better if player respawn with at least 1 bomb

Thanks for playing!

The player does actually respawn with bombs in a sense, in that you drop a lot of bomb items when you die and you keep your bomb stock from your previous life.

This way, on top of the fact that extra lives are consistently available every 1 million points, dying on purpose to regain bomb ammo (especially during boss fights where there are no ground enemies to get bomb items from) is encouraged.

This is one of the reasons that dying is perfectly fine here and that lives should be treated as a disposable resource, with the other reasons being that the death explosion can be used offensively (by purposely ramming into enemies to do a ton of damage), and as a combo extender (due to it working like a bomb scoring-wise and freezing the combo timer while the player is dead).

I was not ready... No Way! You Died! NANIIII~!

Fit the theme Death be not proud so much. I could just not stop kamikazing myself on unit because the death explosion is so juicy and my monkey brain is going bruuuh on the coin sounds.

Explosion out of 10. Will play again for sure.

Fast, frenetic, and fun! I had a blast playing this, but at the same time, I'm glad for the easy mode... it was quite hard. (The levels more so than the bosses) But touhou/bullet hell style games have always given me trouble, I'm sure it's just right for seasoned vets!

The artwork is all very nice, and the SFX and music fit well. All and all a great package. Awesome work!

Lovely game! It reminded me of Cosmodreamer.

If you continue it in the future I think you should improve the following ones:

- Improve the dialogue system to advance faster.

- Adjust the bombs, against the last boss on normal you can use it indefinitetly because destroyed enemy bullets fill up the bomb meter.

Thanks for playing!

It seems that the issue with the dialogue system being too slow is caused by high refresh rate monitors dropping inputs for the “next” button (it works fine at say, 60hz + VSync), so this should be fixed by the next update.

Being able to bomb spam on bosses was definitely a big regret, so I’m looking to address that too.
