Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Yes. Assets made by me were made during the jam, using VRoid Studio, Google Drawing, and AKVIS Oilpaint. The game does use commercially and freely available stock assets from iStock, Splice, Google Fonts, TurboSquid, VRoid Studio, and VRM Posing Desktop. To the best of my knowledge, none of these stock assets were made using AI.

I'm impressed by your presentation! The 3D look is convincing and the UI is super clean.
I did have difficulty gauging distances and controlling throws, even when trying to throw immediately after a windup, but I think the concept is totally there. Nice work :)

Oh, also the writing was top-notch and characterized everyone really well!

Thanks! It's really more of a visual novel-sports hybrid, so I'm glad you liked the characters!

This is a really unique concept! I've always liked the idea of Magical Girl power spilling into other activities, like sports, clubs, etc. The characters were fun, and I enjoyed the scenario and setup.

I got totally crushed by the other team... I didn't even get to see magical girl powers. I could never get the balls to consistently throw where I wanted, didn't score a hit, and couldn't catch anything in the outfield ;-;

This may be a skill issue on my part... but a tutorial of some sort at the start of the game might be helpful, as I never quite knew exactly what to do.

Regardless, this is polished and well made. Also, I'm always excited to see another Construct user!

I think I need to add a thing that says "early"/"late" for pitching as well as batting. The idea was that if you wait too long to throw the ball, it results in a wild pitch. But the UI definitely needs to make that more clear!

Oh, I see! That makes sense... I was definitely doing that wrong DX

I'll have to try it again later!

Excellent presentation!  The characters were fun and the graphics and sound are great!  For the mechanics, I feel like the batting could use a slight visual cue of some kind, as the angle makes it hard to tell how close the ball is.  The pitching also seemed a bit random - it didn't seem to matter where I aimed in determining where the ball went or whether or not it was hit.

It was still a fun game, even though I lost 12 - 1! 🤣

The game style, UI, animations, and particles are incredible, truly a pleasure to look at!

Gameplay-wise it was a tough ride for me, a non-US person with no prior knowledge about baseball. But even after learning the rules, it was ultra-hard to not only time your inputs right but also to predict the ball's trajectory (in both batting and catching). The game pacing becomes very slow during the match, even compared to the VN intro, but, I guess, that's how baseball should be.

Opponents leave no room for mistakes catching every our ball (with the only exception of the Magical Home Run), I will root for them on the nationals.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I figured it made sense for story reasons to make the opponents hard to beat, but if it's unreasonably hard for most people, it would be an easy thing I can fix.

Also do you think it would be better if the game was 3 innings instead of 5?

Submitted

I think the magic meter could fill a bit faster, to fill in ~2 innings (or 1 if you're lucky enough), so 3 innings should be enough to fully experience the mechanics (I'm not good at math, but the player will get around 40 throws and 20 chances to hit the ball).

As the opponent also had the same magic meter, I was expecting them to transform (to crash us completely), not sure if has any effect though.
