I went back to feeling like a kid playing flash games online on Internet explorer!!! Fun game.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The frog is insanely cute :) And your developer intro animation fantastic! Game loop is quite satisfying. Whole month is a long time though. Ended up dying to undo actions I assume. It went by so fast. Overall really great entry! Well done

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, finishing out the whole month is a bit monotonous at the moment. Thanks for the feedback!

Okay, I'll get into the details later but WHO THE HELL ORDERS A LETTUCE ONLY BURGER WHAT PSYCHOPATH DOES THAT!!

Game is super well polished. Art style is NOICE I like how everything is super responsive. I think the game really would have missed out if you did not include the tutorial screen. That really added to the retention. The music/sound FX fits very well with the game.

The one thing that I'd say was that these kind of games are usually made to have more chaos as the game goes on, but that didn't happen here which is kinda good for a jam game but not really good for this kind of game? And me saying a game is easy really does mean it's too easy. But being easy means that everyone gets to enjoy the challenge so that's good.

This also made me hungry. I just finished playing a game in which the boss throws pizza at you & now this. The universe is sending a signal. 😂

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I would have loved to add more depth to the game, but time got the best of me. I'm super happy I had time near the end to throw the tutorial together! It's a bit long winded and I didn't have time to animate it, but it's in there, so I'm glad for that. Thanks again for playing! Go get something to eat!

Submitted(+1)

Honestly. The tutorial as is does a very good job so don't stress too much about it ^^

Side note, I actually did get burgers today cause of this game 😂

So cute graphics and sounds. Also the gameplay is nice and invites to you continue playing. Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I appreciate it!

I love this kind of cooking gamea and it is amazing that this game has been completed in only 10 days. Well done .

Developer

Thank you very much!

I liked the stress take on the theme. The art and sound design were good. The tutorial was a bit too long for my taste and there were some minor bugs. Overall good game.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the tutorial was the last thing I got to working on, so it's kinda rushed. Thanks for playing!

A nice and simple game with potential for more!

Developer

Thank you!

This is my favorite game in the jam so far! It is fun, love the pixel animations, and the sound! I would love more variation for example unlocking new ingredients after passing a certain calendar date and so on! But besides that it is well made! The frog is adorable!

Developer(+1)

Wow! Thank you for the high praise!

I love the frog! It's so cute that I can't concentrate and cook my burgers...

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you it!

I really liked the vibes of this one!
Even if it was a little barebones, buggy and dare i said "done already", I stayed until the last day and uploaded my score.

I really wish you would have given it some unique mechanic, because the artstyle and vibe is SO charming that i want to stay, but the gameplay gets a little mundane

with that said, absolutely 5 stars for the presentation

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I appreciate you sticking it out till the last day, despite the monotony. I would have liked to add a bit more variety, but time got the best of me. Thank you for the feedback and the kind words!

PROS:

- Borgar

- One of the bests of the Jam

- It made me want a borgar

- Theme followed as an afterthought but who cares because borgar.

My personal Borgar Opinons:

- I want to be able to pre cook borgar patti and put it on a tray or something, It would allow the player to do more multitasking. It is not required for the player to do but would allow people who want to improve some cool space to make the game even more engaging.

- MULTIPLE ORDERS after like the first week or something to ramp up difficulty. Let it be perhaps 2 orders after a week and then on the last week you can do 3 orders at a time. This would allow the Parallelism of being able to cook multiple patties at a time be really useful.

- Adding another time based ingredient on the 3rd week like chicken to make the player be able to have to juggle yet another task be interesting, but you would have to see how having multiple orders works first.

- Side Note: as a dev I know that adding multiple orders might be a massive pain but I know it would be worth it with more multitasking stuff then just patti

- Double Side Note: HOW DID YOU GET SUCH A HIGH SCORE THERES NO WAY YOU ARE USING DEV CHEATS OR SOMETHING!!! (Sarcastic) But in all seriousness, damn that is a really high score!

Developer

Wow! Thank you for the detailed feedback! I agree with all your points.

Multiple orders is something I really wanted to add, but there is so little screen real-estate, I'd have to re-think the layout a bit.

Another time based ingredient is a great idea!

Getting a lucky combination of upgrades and only playing this game for the last 10 days! I am one with the burger now.

Again, thank you for the feedback and for playing! I really appreciate it!

For multiple orders, to save screen space and let player focus, you could have the "inactive" orders smaller but still visible, and allow the player to switch which is the active order by dragging them, perhaps something like a carousel wheel, vertical or horizontal (whichever has more room)

Or you could have the orders instead be in a stack, and let the player pick one off the top and place it wherever they want on screen, this would allow the player to drag as many or as little orders as they want out at a time, and put it where they want, allowing more player freedom. They would obviously animate out once completed, and whenever you make a burger it just either automatically detects which order it belongs to and completes it,
OR you could have the player drag the burger to the order receipt like a game of charades (not sure if that works gameplay wise and could be too complex for the player but interesting idea)

I personally like the second Idea because it gives the player control and makes the experience  more interactive and they can still play at their own pace, whether it be slow or fast.

The assets are just on point for this game, the game as a game is very game, very complete and well designed game.

Developer

Hmm, yeah I could see a couple of these working out. Thank you so much for the ideas! I appreciate you taking the time to write this all up.

I'm glad you enjoy the art! Making the assets is my favorite part of the game dev process. I hope to return the kindness when your game shows up in my rating queue! Thanks again and take care!
