Really fun :) felt like it got so much feeling into an idea that was genius in its brevity!

Developer

Thank you!  Glad you thought so!

Slightly nightmarish little dive simulator. Glad I got to the surface. At first I thought this might turn into a full horror game, but I think I prefered this to that. Well done!

Developer

Glad I landed on the right side then!  Balancing between horror and just stress from a timer was something I was thinking of when designing.

I enjoy playing it! good job^^ aaaa and the music kinda freaks me out a bit hahaha XD overall, I love the game idea :D

Developer

Glad to hear, and thanks, it was a rather lucky find but super appropriate given the game.  Very happy you enjoyed!

I like the art, it's not exceptional but it's nice to the eye and has a style it's following.

Not the biggest of the gameplay, as the mechanic of needing to pass a level in a certain amount of time (going from air pool to air pool) is not too interesting without obstacles. There's no challenge in that.

Another thing that I didn't like was that the controls were only bound to arrow keys. Would be nice to have them on WASD as well as most games use those controls and that's the first thing that most people will reach for. Right now I had to figure out the controls on my own.

But it's a finished product and it works so good job on that!

Developer

Yeah...lack of obstacles was my biggest regret for the project.   Like I had a few in there, but they weren't plentiful (and if I had a bunch of the same in a single area, that would be bad for different reasons)

Certainly a fair critique.  I tend to try and bind WASD and arrow keys to the same inputs, but I'll admit it slipped my mind this time.

Thanks for the review!

"A pretty simple game I will admit, but hey I'm mostly here to learn :D" - A wonderful sign of a humble game developer. A mindset in game jams that only the top 1%  have (fact checkers say this 1% is wrong 😂)

The art-style is uniquely attractive. I can say that this art-style & this game feel has potential to be a bigger game.  Albeit the core 'breathing' mechanic could be modified to make more gameplay elements and the level design will have to be adjusted as well but that is only FOR A BIGGER GAME.

The game right now as is, does what it's supposed to do excellently i.e. deliver a game experience smoothly. which is better in my 2 cents opinion than having a big game deliver a bad game experience.

Fantastic job, Hope you learned a lot from the JAM ( I again will say that your art style is unique & holds a very 'true' to you identity )

Thank you for your kind words :D I'm glad you like the art style!  It's definitely something I'm trying to practice on my own time between jams as I feel like it's my biggest hurdle to making a bigger game.

I did learn a ton!  And even some stuff not relevant to this game/jam, but definitely in the next!

Again, thank you <3

Okay, first of all....

That was Fast!

Yet it was still fun. Those angler fishes of the deep are also relentless, really made me put enough pressure on my keyboard. ;P

But, it was a really short yet fun game. Wish more stuff could be added, but i guess that can be done after the jam. looking forward to more stuff from ya. 😁

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I could have extended the map, but I feel like it would be empty if I didn't add more stuff to make it interesting.

Haha, I'm glad to hear it!

Thank you kindly!

Quick and simple game that makes good use of the theme. Nice work!

Thank you!

Simple and easy game, remind me of retro games and Atari games, game requires more contents but nice submission. good job.

Developer

Thanks!  Yeah, there was a lot of stuff I wanted to add if I had time (more fish variety, fish at different sections/light levels of the map, and a longer map in general).  Still thanks for taking a look and reviewing!
