Cool game! I liked the harpoon mechanic. I thought I was doing well, but still got D as my grade. But no hard feelings, I'm sure I could do better next time. Anyway, well done on the game!

The core game is simple and fun. Nice art and chill music was another big plus too.
The swimming controls were a bit frustrating (clicking up/w would have been more intuitive to control) and I wish the spear gun didn't have such a punishing cool down if you miss a shot.
I love the style and the overall game is super cute. It's not too punishing and it's a great game for a jam.
Some things that could be improved are the following:
- Health gauge feels backwards. I am losing oxygen but the gauge is filling up. Also it's a bit hard to see as my focus is always on my cursor for aiming and it blends in with the water.
- The water animation felt off because it was not uniform with the overall pixel art style. If the water curves were also pixelated then it would have fit in a lot more.
Other than that it's fun and good job!
That water surface physics/animations man, So juicy it could be a own mechanic in itself 😍I had a bit of issue with the spear gun shooting, since this is an arcade game I think the 'realism' of the spear falling down slightly could be removed altogether? That was my shortcoming in my Grade F (felt like the game was taunting me by indicating press F to pay respects😂 )
Fun experience, Air bar UI felt 'small' to me as I completely forget about the air lol (which is a good thing since I was so focused on catching fishies)

Great game! Short and sweet! Art, animations and sounds are all solid. Would love a leaderboard to really push players to want to keep playing.
Love the music and sprites of this!! Very nice highscore game! Some small feedback - I thought the movement was a bit clunky and could maybe made a bit easier :)
PROS:

CONS:
- Player Movement is abit funky, it is good but it feels off somehow. could have a dash ability perhaps
- The shooty hook is abit slow, if it could go faster and go further and (im sure sure it does or doesnt because it doesnt go very far) be able to hook multiple fish at a time.
- The random fish spawning is easy code wise and works fine, but could be improved to instead encourage more exploration. I found it most intuitive (maybe not the best) to just stay in the same area and shoot the same respawns (spawn kill them)

Yeeee I probably spent far too much time on the water physics xD, but I'm glad a lot of people are appreciating it as much as I do.
For movement and the speargun mechanics, I was leaning more on the realism side. Originally wanted to make the swimming more complicated and involved, but I remembered water levels suck and scrapped what I had for standard platformer game feel. If I had more time, I would expanded more on the swimming to be like DKC.
Fish spawning was a bit of a late addition for me, originally was going to have a much bigger world with specific fish placements, but didn't have enough time. To be honest, AI pathfinding and logic is one of my least favorite things to code xD, so I opted for complete random movement simple run direction math.
Fun game, i would change the spawning system a bit to give the player more chance to fish, the game gives a nostalgic feel for old games (maybe Nintendo or family PC), good job devs.
