Oh my god I wish I caught this during the rating period, absolutely amazing. Well-deserved gold medal for audio, this was SUCH a blast to play and to listen to.
Also, as someone who LOVES rhythm games, I love that this is a multi voice rhythm game. Getting to use two hands and play bassnotes with my left and melodies with my right is so damn satisfying, wish there were more rhythm games like this that captured different voices in a track. I had such an amazing time playing this. Will probably play this a few more times to see if I can get a higher score but here’s my best:
Anyway, amazing job. Loved it!
Update: now we’re cooking
Alright this is probably the highest I can go for now. I love the song!
Niiice :D
I’m around 100K now, still working on it too 😄
(Sorry for the spam) Damn almost got an FC, choked at the end and overpressed a red note twice during the last melody. Felt so good to nail the first half though, really rewarding to learn this song:
As an aside, I really like how your game avoids playing any kind of “failure” noise when you miss a note (a lot of other rhythm games do this). That, coupled with hiding the score until the end really helps keep the flow state going and keeps the focus on the actual music, I really like that.
Damn, you almost nailed it! :D Didn't manage to do this score... yet!
Awesome rhythm game! The graphics look amazing and the music was really superb. I think making it really hard was definitely the right choice, it makes me want to play again and get a better score. My only issue was i had a hard time finding the keys, the number keys would have been more natural for me. My final score was 11137
A lot of people don't agree with that choice of making it hard, but yes that was the initial idea, you can always try again and get better :D. That said I'll still consider adding an easier mode after the ratings are over. Thanks for playing!
Solid little rhythm game. I'm terrible at these.
Burst was clear when I go it right, but I would have liked more feedback from the game for my mistakes, though that might have been messy on the low resolution..
Indeed very hard but otherwise beautiful stuff.
Wayyyyyy to hard. Great music and visuals though. Keeping music in sync with the visuals is no easy task, so props for that.
The difficulty is extreme right from the start, but aside from that, everything really checks out :D
The simple "neon" visuals are really appealing and the music is good.
Really good music
Awesome music, but I suck at rhythm games… not quite true to resolution tho
Thanks for playing, but nope, the game is done on a 64x64 display. It’s just the post processing that adds the LCD-style grid lines, which is allowed in the rules
This game is very cool and I have to say that once you start nailing certain rhythm patterns it is very satisfying, almost like you are making the music yourself (which thankfully the track continues when I am flailing around on the keyboard - something I very much appreciated!) I was locked in! Excellent work with this and the soundtrack is a banger! :D
Really fun and I loved the music. It is certainly challenging, but in time I got used to associating the colors with the keys to press. Just awesome!
Glad you persisted in improving your skills in the game! Thanks for playing :)
Well, you were right, It's hard haha
But I loved the music, and the visuals were solid.
Thanks! I think I'll add an easier mode in a post-jam version :)
Got a score of 9762 at my first try! I like it quite a lot but I got confused with the keys a few times. It might be good to display the key on the space ships.
I also prefer to use the keys s, d, f, j, k, l, instead. Not sure if this works better.
Yes SDF JKL is a good layout too, although it makes it more difficult to change how you move your hands as you have 2 separate areas. As of displaying the keys on the spaceships, well, with only so few pixels available, that would make a lot of noise on the screen. But a compromise would be to be able to display it by holding another key I guess.
Yay a rhythm game! Wish this had difficulty ramp up, haha super tough at the moment but love the concept and super satisifying colors too! awesome stuff
Thanks :) I wish I had time to provide an easier mode, but that will be done in a post-jam version!
AHHH I LOVE THIS SO MUCH i suck at rhythm but the synths and colors transported me to space
Thank you! And hopefully you'll perform better once I set up an easier mode (for a post-jam version)
This is super hard but really fun! Love the music and the concept!
Thanks for playing 😊
Rhythm! Was fun to play and enjoyed the visuals, great job!
Thank you :)
The song is 10/10 and I like the idea, but also way to hard to play. Would love an introductionary level. :)
Thanks! I'll likely add an easier mode in a post-jam version, seems like a must do!
Great game!!! Pretty much a perfect game! Please carry on building it. Some intro soundtracks that are simpler would be highly appreciated just to get warmed up. I actually love the stylistic choice of going with the LCD display style. Also, the soundtrack was amazing. Well done!
Thank you 🙏 Yes, I’ll add an easier mode for a post-jam version ;)
A bit too hard for my taste, but execution works incredbly well and the music sounds really really nice
Yes, the game is hard 😅. I wanted to have 3 different levels of difficulty but didn’t have the time unfortunately
This game has been a lotta fun to master! Love it :)
Thanks! Yes, even if it’s pretty hard, each new try can make you get better at it :)
