Love it!

Considering the turn-based design, it is neither complex nor too basic, everything is perfectly understandable and playable. As a person who loves such strategy games with grid-based movement and turns, I loved it!

Sprites look amazing, you have perfectly nailed the resolution restriction both by art and the UI use. The audio gracefully reflects the vibe that you are trying to represent with such a game. Overall, I really enjoyed the game, and would love to see more!

Perfect!

Solid entry! I really liked the graphics, there was just enough detail to be engaging and descriptive while ensuring there was enough on screen. The tactics style game was done really well, and I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough! The sound was also perfect. I would have liked an automatic skip or something similar for units that had no movement options at all however. Finally, I felt that some of the "tactical" aspect was lost to random level generation, though another way to look at it would be forcing the player to be more adaptable. Overall, well done!

Developer

Thank you for valuable feedback! Automatic skip is one of the features that I planned, but did not have time. And yes, random placement of trees sometimes ruins the battle, but greatly increases replayability.

Awesome submission - very tight, fun loop - kept me playing til the end. I would love to see more troop progression.

GREAT game! I had so much fun with it. I appreciate the battles being extra forgiving.

I beat the warlock with my last arrow from my last archer!! Super satisfying

This game was a ton of fun! I'd happily play a longer version with a larger tech tree.

Thank you! I will leave the jam version as it is, because it is a prototype of a more complex game that I plan to develop.

P.S. I’ve changed my mind. Massive update is coming right after jam ends. Smooth animations and lot of content.

This game made me immersed and I wanted to keep going! It is cute, simple, and works well. Kudos!

Developer

Thanks! This is exactly what I wanted this game to be.

This is really a solid entry, with a lot of content, nice non-intrusive music and sound effects. The art direction is really cool given the restrictions and you did a fantastic job to convey the right messages. Top marks!

Nice game! Tactics games are complex beasts. The music gave me vibes of Ultima classic series (dunno why…). Overall quite a complete experience though the game flow was a bit repetitive and farming for gold made initial tech-tree evolution a bit too easy. Nice job as a global result!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Easy missions can be repeated for gold farming in case of heavy casualties. Real tactics starts with 5 units promoted. I had only 2 days for testing and tweaking, so balance is far from ideal.

Fully understandable… due date for this kind of jam moves you into rush mode. The game is fun and pretty cool, so that’s the important thing ;)

Awesome game. Really managed to use every pixel on screen effectively and clearly. The tactical element was implemented very well.

Love this. It's amazing how much you're able to pack into such a tiny screen, and your spritework is fantastic. Everything is clear and vibrant. I haven't yet beaten all the encounters, but I'll be coming back to this one for sure!

It is an amazing game! I love the game Heroes of might and magic. Your game reminds me a lot of it. Really great job!

Great game! The battles are fast, while still requiring tactics to win. I love the audio!

Fantastic! Best submission I've played so far and it'll take some beating.

Nostalgic for Heroes 3 now, you really boiled the game down to it's essential components. In the later stages, game felt balanced. All round, great job.

What a fantastic game! I applaud you for implementing a hexagonal grid at this resolution! Everything was very clearly communicated to the player, the sound, animations, and enemy design were all great. By far my favorite submission so far. Truly 10/10.
