What the heck? We get 4096 pixels and this dev just says, "Nah, I only need 2304" :P
Seriously though, fun game where I could really feel myself improving, just a little tricky to learn at first.

Did you work in a team?
Not a team! Just me! It was fun.
Was the resolution a challenge?
Honestly the resolution didn't impose challenge?? It made the whole process easier. The whole concept of the game was designed around being small/simple and the limitations on the art made it easier to produce for me.
What did you learn?
I learned a lot. This is maybe the first time I scoped a game correctly. This was my first time working in super-low-resolution and I really enjoyed it. Trying to adapt a complex sport to a dead-simple game was a really fun design challenge.

Really cool for something done in a few days, AI feels balanced, hitting the ball feels varied, nice!
The winning sound could use a noise pass to soften the distortion and clipping. But other than that, there's not much to say. It's a nice little volleyball game!
Great job!
Great job in converting the complexity of volleyball into simple mechanics. Not too many volleyball games out there.
It is so simple, but it makes so much fun :) To do a spike is so cool!
Really fun little volleyball game. Reminds me of the old sports games for the atari 2600 but controls way better. The most use of as little pixels as possible. I'd totally play more tiny sport games if you made more. Great game!
ayy pretty good game but I had a problem with my controls like the guy will always comeback to the same position really quick making me feel like I am not in control and miss lots of ball
This is an intentional design choice but thank you for your feedback! I wanted it to feel more timing/skill based to recieve/bump a ball, not just being in the right position. It also makes the controls even simpler-- if you don't touch anything it resets itself. I see it as more of a game-and-watch or even an old-school mechanical toy style system of control. This style also feels more natural on controller (this is what I designed around) and is less ideal on keyboard, definitely. Anyway thanks again for playing!
This is great! Also I love how surprisingly expressive the low rez sprites are. Bump, set, spike are so iconic and recognizable, you nailed the art! Like everyone else mentioned already, I really like the simplified mechanics of just positioning and setting up a spike. Great work!
I had a LOT of fun with this game! Flawless gameplay. Impressive how you managed to capture the essence of volleyball using the absolute minimum of elements and mechanics. I could play this for hours, congratz :)
Love the tiny players; super cute! I saw you're planning on doing a 2p mode, and that would be sweet! <3
Fun game, you absolutely nailed the game-feel of building up to, aiming, and then spiking the ball.
This is really cool, I am very impressed with the physics of the ball and how tightly the bump/set/spike ties together. The spikes are very tricky to gauge, and the CPU is dastardly good. Would definitely enjoy a 2 player version of this.
Great job! Actually pretty creative way to represent the game of volleyball.
