Did you work in a team?
Just me!

Was the resolution a challenge?
The hardest part was Shakespearian text into such a small amount of space! Luckily most lines are only 10 syllables, but I had to rewrite some famous one to get them to fit!

What did you learn?
I used Dialogic for Godot for the first time for a project and found it to be very useful.

This game is really lovely! I included it in my LowRezJam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

This was an unreasonably fun game. There wasn't much to it, but I was hooked. The sound effects were satisfying and made it fun to prepare the ingredients. I enjoyed the story even if I knew more or less what was going to happen. Awesome project, good job!

I love this game so much. Everything about it, the music, the sounds, the graphics, and especially the dialogue. Them standing on a stage to deliver their lines... so good!

The vegetable chopping was a nice ASMR way to break up the scenes. I got really got at using the mortar and pestle. What a fun way to expose people to Shakespeare. I had never read or seen Romeo and Juliet before playing this.

That was nice, perhaps a bit repetitive as stated before, but still enjoyable. I especially liked the contrast between pixel art and classical music. And in case you don't already know it you should also definitely check Prokofiev's own Romeo & Juliet :)

Cute little minigames and good story :D

This was lovely! I'm loved your twist on the story and the dialogue was very cute. I'm also a total sucker for Tchaikovsky so it was a pleasure to listen to and play.

I really liked the pixelation effects on the ingredients when they were swept into the bowl. The sounds were also very well done (the bowl grinding sound was particularly nice), very satisfying. Nice work!

The mortar and pestle is oddly satisfying.

I love that you mixed basically a visual novel with some, though minimal, game mechanics. I would have liked to see more variety in the game itself just to spice it up a bit. The dialogues are fantastic, though I'm not a native speaker, I really like the sound of more archaic words and sentences and definitely enjoyed that element. Overall a great job, and it is nice to see so many entries that are not the usual platformers/arcadey games.

Now this is the way that ol' Billiam himself ought to have written it! The entire concept of this small play makes me smile, your spritework is charming as heck, and the minigames were nice. I do wish there had been a couple more of them, but this is a jam and, well, sometimes you want to double, double toil and trouble but have to halve, halve toil and cut the trouble because there's just no time. What I'm saying is, I liked this small play. Thanks for making it.

Charming narrative experience with great pixel art. I loved how you managed to put a significant amount of text in such a small resolution. Preparing the potions was soooo satisfying! Well done!
