There were 2 of us in total. We both split the code, art, and design so it was a true collaboration!
Was the resolution a challenge?
I think the biggest challenge for our first lowrezjam entry 3 years ago was the camera following the player. This time the camera is fixed on each section of the level so you can't blindly walk into an enemy or jump off an edge.
What did you learn?
I think the biggest lesson I learned is that it's extremely difficult to share code and match art styles with somebody. The former, especially. It was a rewarding challenge, but probably not the most efficient way to go about making a game!

Short and sweet. I will echo the inconsistent jumping comments that others have made, it seemed like jump height was random which was a little frustrating, so I ended up spamming double jump any time I needed to jump. However I did love how you designed the progression through the game, there was a really nice flow of gaining new abilities (sword and shield) and then immediately having a new path that utilized them. The graphics and color palette were quite nice as well. Great job!

This game was really good! The aesthetics look quite nice and the game was quite short. The only problem I had with it was that the jumping was a little inconsistent. For some reason, it seemed to be jumping at different heights in which it messed up my double jump making it hard to get to certain platforms. Apart from that, Great job!

The game didn't work for me. I pressed Enter and tried the controls, but nothing happened. The only thing that did something was when I pressed N and the right character jumped slightly and it zoomed out in the web version. This was very strange and I tried out both the web and windows version and nothing seemed to work.
That's super strange! I just downloaded the windows version to see, and it seems to be working fine on my end! Curious what version of windows you're using, and also what web browser? It was only tested in Chrome. I'd love to get to the bottom of that though! Sorry it didn't work for you!
I used Firefox and I'm currently on a Windows 10 computer with pretty good specs. I honestly don't know what didn't work. Enter to start the game worked, but from there nothing really seemed to work even after I pressed every single key. Quite unfortunate really. Every other game I've played have worked so I just had to let you know.
I'm honestly not sure what it could be! I'm also running windows 10 and it worked for Firefox that time too. Seems like you might be an anomaly! Sorry again that it didn't work for you! T_T
Apparently it worked fine in Chrome. Still quite strange that the windows and firefox versions didn't work for me. Well, regardless of all that, this was a fun game! Great graphics and gameplay. I like the way you introduced new mechanics and that you didn't start with everything and had to collect new abilities. Well done!

Nice little game, I was hoping it had a second part when I reached the end because I wanted to keep playing. My only criticism is that I think it takes too long to go to the go to the next scene when you die, for a bit there I was wondering if there was an error in the game.

What has most caught my attention about the game has been the color palette, the game has a very unique style that I love. sometimes the control is a little rough but very simple and easy to learn and use, the music and sounds are very good. deserves a very good score, it's very good ^^

This was a cool game. I like that it was small in scope but I still feel like I was exploring appropriately. Reminded me of gold game boy games, but with a cool color scheme. Great job on this one!
