Briefly describe your project
Indigenous people lived in harmony with the land and all of it inhabitants. They believed that humankind was brought to care for the balance of all living creatures and the elements alike. "Our Collective Future" is in honor of this spirit. Its a reminder of the global impact that the hubris of colonization brought to our planet. It hopes that we may find our way back to a more balanced and respectful way of living.

How did you come up with your project idea?
We combined the interests of all team members and found a common ground where disparate ideas could meld. We combined the use of volumetric video, interest in conversation and land ownership, a desire to create realtime anchors and interactivity, all while intending to make the best use of the context of the space we were connected through VPS.

How did you innovate on this product? (Optional)
content dropped with dynamic anchors

How does it speak to Niantic's mission? (Optional)
Our Collective Future uses augmented reality to create a meaningful experience that hopes to invigorate reverence for humankind's relationship to nature. It takes the player on a journey in the real world that sparks their imagination and expands their awareness through interactive storytelling.

How complete is your project? (Optional)
The first part of our story about the connection to the land from the perspective of the indigenous people is relatively complete, minus the interactions we were hoping to include. However, we did not really get to the full story of the impact that our built environment has had on the land and nature, nor the third part of the story where we talk about solutions and actions that individuals can collectively take to ensure a harmonious future.

This is a great XR documentary-like experience that could help people learn about locations around the world. Great use of VPS Wayspots.
