Cute game, just wish there was more to it.

Developer

There was much more planned as well. What exactly you can find below in the other replies of mine. Will not copy paste it into every answer.

Thank you for playing

Cute little game. I like it. I don't know if this is supposed to happen but you can build multiple houses on top of each other or a tree spawned in a house or a stone fell on another stone etc.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you very much. Glad you like it. In the beginning it was a bug that I removed. But since I was not finished with all the other features and it became quite boring without these "bugs". I decided to simply allow the chaos and thus bring a little more life into the game.

What all was planned you can find in other answers here in the comments.

Are you german?

Developer(+1)

Yes.^^

Submitted

Voxel art is really cool, but I won the game just randomly clicking, not sure, maybe it was a bag. Despite that, I enjoyed spawning tons of houses!

Developer

Thank you. Ty for playing.
Unfortunately, this was not a bug, but I just had to delete a lot of things (More about what was planned in the other answers). In the end, I just wanted as much chaos as possible so that it would at least be fun.

A very neat game? I enjoyed playing it! I think with more time this game has lots of potential. One thing I'd liked to have seen was some camera movement, but good job :)

Developer

Thank you and thanks for playing.

There were more cameras planned for church and dungeon. The world should also be larger. However, the view should remain in the 45 degree angle. So the typical isometric look. Of course, the camera could be rotated, so that you can see more.

There were dungeon, opponents and a boss fight planned so that you could also have a little fun with the newly built army. All characters actually have 4 weapons with them. But the dear time was then just too short. Maybe I will finish the game this year.

Oh yeah, I struggle with time management as well each jam... I had some more things planned for my game but I only had 3 days to work on it. The ideas you have seem very promising, I hope you keep working on it!

Developer(+1)

For me it was a total of only 2 days on which I could really work on the game. But your game is really great for the 3 days! I will probably finish the game by the end of the year. At the moment I take part in every gamejam to get back into the gamedev stuff a little bit.

Submitted(+1)

Thanks! Good luck with all your next jams!

A cute little game. Really like the artwork and the idea. I do thing some kind of threat would make it a bit more like a game, but time restrictions can make implementing those difficult! Good stuff

You're absolutely right, unfortunately I ran out of time and had to cancel the parts that hadn't been tested yet. Nevertheless, it was incredibly fun.

That was also my goal... just deliver, even if it was not quite finished and is not perfect.

Thank you for playing and commenting. :)

Conceptually pretty cool, but in action it's definitely too short with no threat to success (in my experiences playing through twice). If you spam build houses and crosses the game can be over in about a minute or 2, and resources don't deplete upon creation of houses or crosses which I would assume was unintentional.

The art is nice, and the game fits well into the theme.

Developer(+2)

You're completely right, and the concept itself was also much bigger. Unfortunately, murphy's law struck and shortened my dev time. The game is way to short and there is much more. Issue, I had not enough time to test and bugfix everything, so I just released the stuff that was playable. At the end of the game(if it is fully playable) there is an Ork boss(after waves of goblins and skeletons) sent from the devil and you have to battle him with your created army in the dungeons under the church. So sorry, that nobody can play the original idea.

Copied from another answer: I had planned much more, but unfortunately I didn't finish and had to cut 50%. eg: Enemies, Dungeon and a much larger world. There are actually also several types of trees, stones and all characters have 4 weapons. But murphy's law came around the corner with a flu and other things. Nevertheless I am satisfied.

My goal was to participate in a jam again after 5 years and just deliver, even if it is not finished or good. :)

Thank you for playing.

ah that was my bad for not reading down haha. Hope everything is okay now! What you have is still pretty interesting and I'd love to see it fleshed out more if it's a game you plan on pursuing past the jam.

Developer(+1)

No worries. I only copied it because I didn't want to write it again. I'm currently thinking about updating the game, since the foundation is in place and many of the planned elements are already working. But first I'm looking for another jam to get back into the swing of gamedev.

Thanks a lot for your comments, which increase the motivation to create more games and revive the dream of an indie developer.

I made a building out of houses :D

Developer(+1)

I did the same XD. Thanks for playing.

Not sure if i have miss something in the game but i win and i have not done anything apart for 10 clikcs to create houses. I have probaly not understand how cross may work. It doesn't drag and drop. By the way you have finish a game (and i win it) and the voxel art style is nice.

Developer

No, you haven't missed anything. It's really just a matter of clicking and then dragging to the location and clicking again to place it. I had planned much more, but unfortunately I didn't finish and had to cut 50%. eg: Enemies, Dungeon and a much larger world. There are actually also several types of trees, stones and all characters have 4 weapons. But murphy's law came around the corner with a flu and other things. Nevertheless I am satisfied.
