Pretty interesting exploration game, I like the idea of moving around in this dark dungeon to find keys/solve puzzles and move on to the next room! I agree with other comments about holding down a button; I also wish WASD was an option as well. Also agree that more levels like the 3rd level puzzle would be great; you could make this a puzzle game where the objective is to figure out how to move on, in addition to the key-searching.
Overall, solid entry; great job!
Very small touch, but I like the little animated line when the player moves. It really gives weight to the movement. And you nailed the speed and animation of the movement too. It just feels good. Hard to articulate!
As far as the gameplay, I don't think it's the most engaging. For the first couple levels, I felt like I was just wandering around and hoping I'd run into the keys I needed to progress. The puzzle in the third one had a bit more to it. Do more things like that I think!
Also just to help with getting lost, it might be nice to have a little minimap of where the player has been. It could be hidden behind fog of war (something like the Mystery Dungeon games might be cool).
I enjoyed the level design and the atmosphere. As a small improvement maybe consider letting the player hold a key to keep moving in a direction, it would make exploration easier, but other than that this fit the theme perfectly!
That was satisfying to finish! I liked the use of environment to hint at the solution for the last level. I also felt like maybe the environmental hints could have been pointing either direction (I wrote down both possible solutions), but I think that was a limitation of the assets. Adding a little mini success noise (like when you complete the puzzle) for doing each step correctly might help make that clear earlier (or let players figure it out with trial and error).
Great usage of the theme! I was a little confused about what to do on the level with the multiple warp pads, but the music and visuals were great. As other commenters have said, some quality of life changes with movement may have been nice, and I personally would have liked to see some animation and soft sound effects when moving around. Overall, great job!
Spoooooky !!! Love it ! <3
I finished the first 2 levels ! but the third one was too hard for me, i couldn't find anything around xd
Amazing choice for the background music, but i think it fits well if it was at Night ! :0
Great game !
Hmm.. A very interesting take on the theme. I like the idea of exploring and finding all sorts of items. And I had little to no problems! You have done a fantastic job!
I think that its a good game that follows the theme well. My only suggestion is maybe allow the player to hold a direction so they don't need to keep pressing the key over and over
Liked limited vision as a mechanic, since I started without reading anything I was tried to play with WASD. You should consider to add that! Because there are some players just clicks play like me :)
It's a great start with an amazing concept, however, something to challenge the player would help keep them engaged. It's a great use of assets with music that fits
nice concept for a game, i would have liked to have been able to hold down the arrow keys to move, very satisfying to fine the exit to a level!
I agree!
Nice game! You used the assets very well. I would have loved to see some enemies that chase you to make the game a bit more challenging. Very cool!
