Wow what a wonderful game! I love the idea of growing more every time you enter the pipe. The game bugged 3 times when I tried entering it but once I figured out it was because I didn't eat everything I was ok. The look is wondaful. Same goes for level design 💛 I would've maybe add areas your can only access when you get big. Otherwise it feels restraining every time you grow instead of being a new adventure. You can be proud of what you made, that is an awesome game 😄
Yeah, the bug is really annoying, should've tested my game a little bit more. Thank you for all your kind words, I totally agree with the idea of adding areas you can only access when you get big enough, but I didn't want to overestimate what's possible for me in 48 hours :)
Very fun and very polished. Great work!!
Thanks!
Really cute game! I got stuck a couple of times but retried and got through. Nice one!
Thank you! :)
Fun game! The title caught my attention out of the submission page, and drew me straight to it.
I really liked the gameplay controls and audio. Like a few other folks, I got stuck on the pipe, but everything else worked great.
Good job!
Haha! Good to know, my titles do work, glad you had fun!
fun little platformer and good sounds and music! a couple of places you can soft lock, between the tree and cloud and on the pipe rim; perhaps a forced respawn from checkpoint hotkey next time! great job for 48 hours!
Thank you! Yup definitely will be adding a reset button next time
This game uses sound effects very well. The footsteps are cute but not overbearing, and the ladder sound is a nice touch. I was able to progress down the pipe twice, but afterwards, the little guy would just say "I'm still hungry", and I would get stuck. On reloading the page, I was not able to progress down the pipe anymore.
Yup, sorry for that, you're supposed to eat 3 creatures each round, then you can go down the pipe, if the alien says I'm still hungry, this means, he's not ready to go down the pipe. I missed a line of code and now the controls get blocked no matter how much food you've eaten, but if that's less than 3, you won't be able to progress :D
got stuck between two plattforms sadly but other than that was a fun game
Thank you!
It feels really polished. But i still managed to get stuck :D
Controls feel nice, but last size of the character made it quite hard to move around. I think it could be more interesing to have character grow in size as you eat stuff. I liked this one!
Thank you! I agree, with the idea growing the character in size every time you eat, but I just got lazy with the level design and figured the easiest way :D
Controls are really good. I passed the pipe some times but I also get blocked 5 times... so I stop here.
Still, that's one of the most "professional" game I've played so far for this jam.
Thanks! I think most people overestimate what they're able to produce in such a limited time frame, or simply lack the experience required to create their vision. I just kept everything small, but it's working :)
Fun game with a very cute ending. I did end up getting stuck between platforms on the first level and had to reset the game few times but overall a really good time. Great work! Keep it up!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks :)
Very good combination of visuals, music and SFX. Control is very comfortable and I appreciate controls description right in game. Only thing i miss there is way to restart game (In cases you got stuck or you finished the game). Finished in 2:59.86. Good Work.
Thank you :) I tried to design the game so you can't get stuck, but nevertheless ended up leaving a critical bug, next time I should definitely consider an option to restart the game. Once you finish you can just press enter to start again.
The idea of a growing character trying to resolve the same level each time in different ways is awesome. I got stuck at some points as other people said but this is one of the best game concepts I've seen on the jam till now. Funny ending also (05:03.79). Great job. Congrats! :)
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Comfortable control and Nice SFX! But I'm bit confused about the goal of the game. And I always stuck on the blue pipe after that the only chose is to restart the game:(
Thank you! The goal is to eat all the creatures (they are animated) and then get onto the blue pipe (if you're not ready, the alien will say it's still hungry), sadly the bug blocks your controls even if you haven't eaten all the creatures.
Best visuals so far! Very good choice of SFX and music too
Thanks! :)
Interesting concept. I had problems figuring out what is eatable and in the end got stuck on a tube:
Yup, sorry about that, all the creatures (they animate) are eatable! Just avoid the pipe if the alien says, he's still too hungry :D
This game's concept is a bit similar to mine hehe.
Loved the idea of getting heavier and having to search for things to eat in the map.
My only complaint is that the game needs a bit of polish.
Cute game concept! The character getting heavier was a neat twist.
There was a bug where when I tried to go down the pipe on the first level without having eaten everything, my controls froze and I could not unfreeze them.
Thanks! Yup sorry for that, can't update the project now ;)
I really liked the idea of making the character heavier as the game went on! I also used the same asset pack, but used a different approach (I would love for you to play).
Congratulations on the submission!
Thanks! :)
Really good use of the assets, i love the feeling while playing the game ^^ But sometimes i got stock on the blue pipe or between a cloud and a branch !
Thanks! tried really hard to make it impossible to get stuck between a cloud and a branch. The blue pipe on the other hand is one little mischievous line of code that slipped my mind :p
haha no worries xD
Nice use of the theme, I really like how many people in this jam decided to use "growth" as a negative effect than a positive one. This game is a nice example of this concept.
Thank you! I would've loved to come up with an idea to make it negative in some ways, but positive in others, I'm not that creative though! :D
