Nice game! Looks great and SFX and music was spot on. I feel that the rotation part could be improved a lot as now it sort of teleports the player and the rotation of the level causing you to feel confused. It would have been better if you rotated the level as an animation so you can easier understand what is happening.

It is a well-designed platformer game. The assets were used in a balanced way, and the sound effects were also in the right place. I wish that additional mechanisms will be introduced. It was so much fun that it was sad that it was short.

Great puzzle platformer. Nice implementation of all the kenney assets, it really looks nice. The bug/platform enemies were also really cool. Overall a solid game for just 2 days of work.

This is a really cool puzzle-ish platformer! It looks great and all of the mechanics work as expected and feel really polished!

To be honest, I was kinda sad when I beat the last level! I was getting so in the grove (barring all of the times I tried hugging those spikes) and I really wished I had a handful more levels to play!

Excellent game and well done!!

Developer

Thanks for playing it! Was fun to watch you on stream - really appreciate the immediate visual feedback of seeing someone playing the game. I think I will definitely add more levels, post-jam - I might also tweak level 5 as it is very easy to die to the spikes in many places!

Loved the cute animations! The music is nice, the scenarios are beautiful and the level design is challenging and interesting. Great game!

There have been quite a few "rotate the level" puzzle platformers this jam, but one thing that stood out to me with this one is that it's a bit more action-y than the others. The platforming is pretty tight, and if you have a good grasp of the level layout you can manipulate the room rotation mechanic to find quicker and more clever ways to the exit. As a fan of action-y puzzle games I quite like that.

I think the idea was there but the implementation is a bit rough mainly because the transition for the rotations is extremely jarring and takes me off guard every single time having me pretty much guess on what's going to happen next. For me, personally, have the a smooth rotation rather than a snap would make it less jarring. If you don't want the player to move while the rotation is happening, you can always freeze everything while the world rotates.

Developer

I'm happy for the player to move during the rotation - it can make for some interesting ways to solve the level. I do need to fix the bugs I had with the animated rotation - it seems to be the biggest gripe that people have with the game... Thanks for the feedback!

Loved the visuals. Actually found me killing myself just to see the death animation again :)

Thanks for playing!

Very responsive controls and rotation. There are two stages to playing a level, figuring out where to go, and then executing going there with a bunch of tricky jumps and rotations. Unfortunately i am not very good at the latter, so i can't really judge how much there is, but from what i've seen it is a well designed platformer. Good job.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Glad you liked the design :)

Great job. The transition effect makes death satisfying :)

It took me quite a few tries to figure out how the rotation keys work. I thought it’s teleporting at first.

Developer

Hehe - first comment about the death animation! I was really pleased with that too! I had originally intended to animate the level rotation, but it caused some incredible game-breaking bugs that I just didn't have time to resolve... it did make it more obvious what was going on though... I think that I may have to reimplement it post-jam as it seems to be the most jarring part of the game experience.

The game, thought short, is very clean and polished. I experience little to no bugs at all. Good combination of a puzzle game with a platformer.

Developer

Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed it!

Really enjoyed this one. While I agree with other feedbacks that without an animation it can be kinda hard to keep track of what's happening when you rotate the screen, once you play a bit more and start to "get it" the level design really comes through and you start to plan your moves better. Also I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I enjoyed the possibility to solve the puzzles with "trick jumps" where you jump and change the rotation multiple times in mid-air to get to your destination. Although if this was to be an intended mechanic it would probably benefit from a slower fall speed as it's quite hectic to control as it is now. Anyway one of my fav entries so far!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yes the trick-jump is an intended mechanic - I was planning on using it deliberately in later levels but didn't get that far, hence why its a bit unpolished at the moment... Glad you enjoyed it though!

A concept that have been seen but really well made with nice little touch/polish.

I just felt like the jump was not forgiving enough, like, the spikes line were a bit too long, maybe that's wanted and you want the puzzle AND the platform type, so in this case, that's all good.

Same for the ennemy, the jump on there head was a bit unforgiven. But well, you can't extra polish everything with so much little time. But I read that you may do an update so just telling what I'd want to be changed :).

It's a great game whatever!

Hmmm... sounds like I need to tweak the collision boxes... I was indeed attempting to make a puzzle-platformer though - so it sounds like that was accomplished at least!

I liked it. Good job

Very nice game ! Solid concept. I would have love to play more levels (but totally ok  amount for a jam)

Great work.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I had hoped to implement some more mechanics and levels, but struggled with time due to previous engagements! I might do a post-jam update to add more content...

Interesting puzzle game. The rotation is so inmediate that it is hard to control, but it is a lot of fun.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Wish it had an animation for rotation as it really jarring to suddenly be falling. Other than that its got some fun levels

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree but just ran out of time to get it working properly... Trust me, its better not rotating at all, compared to what it was doing with it animated!

Submitted(+1)

Cool and original mechanics, although it's often confusing.

Developer

Thanks very much! I had originally planned to animate the rotation so that it was more obvious - but it was really buggy and I didn't have time to sort it out!

fun but there's a bug where you can die when you jump on the bug guys

Developer (1 edit)

If you hit the front or back of them, you die - you have to land on top to get them to stop moving... Thanks for the feedback!
