This is a really nice game! I do have to mention there is a pit trap with lumin in it that you cannot jump out of. Other than that this kept me playin' for about an hour. If save state persists, I'll come play more after the jam (;3) Terrific work!

Very nice game! It looks great and it's fun to get the upgrades so you can explore further areas :). Probably my only complaint is the controls - the jump feels a bit weird how you dash forward when moving horizontaly and can't move much in the air. It's especially strange when trying to jump over a wall or when on "stairs". Oh, and I also tried to jump near the spaceship so many times and it opens the menu, haha :D. I like the lights and the death effect :). Well done game!!

The game has a beautiful atmosphere, the music and the dark scenery with the light fit nicely together.
Howere there where a few things that really frustrated me while playing.
The time until your oxigen & light expires is way to short. It's simply no fun to have to go back to your ship every 30s (in the beginning) but even later on you can't go far to explore.
I also think the "floaty" controls are in conflict with the expire mechanics, because when i see that my oxygen/light gets low i want to return as quickly as possible to the ship (like a speed run) but the controls make that very hard, which leads to planning even more time in to get back, which then  leads to even less explore time.
I think if you tune down one of the two you'll get a much better experience.

ahh, when you got knocked by enemy into another enemy and again and you die ;c

Wow. This has to be my favourite game of the jam so far. That was beautifully executed. I played for like 40 minutes.  And the artwork is simple but so nice. Well done :)

Very good game the truth has been entertaining myself playing it for a long time

This is a amazingly well made game! I like the music, sound effects and the general atmosphere.

It has a little too much backtracking for my taste.

Nice aesthetic, love the 2D lightning! :)

Nice visuals and music, was very enjoyable

Great Game!

I love the art style and music, they fit so well together.

Game Design wise you made an insanely well balanced game, where the player doesn't feel too weak to encounter enemys but also not overpowered enough to rambo their way through the map. Coming "home" to the ship conveys an awesome feeling of safety which makes backtracking feel like part of the journey and not annoying at all.

Great work!

Really enjoyable game! I love the aesthetic of it and I personally like grinding mechanics in a game.

Nice atmosphere and interesting little survival game but the grind quickly became to steep to get enough air to get further for me to keep the interest in it.

After taking the time to be comfortable with the controls, this game really shines. The art and sounds were amazing, I liked how atmospheric the game was. And it's quite addictive. Great job!

Very cool game that got me hooked from the start. If only it was a different key to enter the spaceship. I kept jumping around and entering the spaceship accidentally haha

Well done! I loved so many things about your game. The art style, the game mechanics and the ambiance.

I think the fact that going to the left is not forbidden but much harder is a really good game design choice, that doesn't limit the player to a zone artificially. The more runs I did, the more I realized that I had to think about GOING BACK to the ship once I got my loot, and I started shooting only the enemies that were in my way.

The multiple stats bar that you have to manage is great. It's no use having a lot of ammo if you run out of light (that really screws you does it).

I ended playing it for quite a while. I was wondering what the tubes are for? And if there was an ending?

Developer

Thank you for your detailed Feedback! I am glad, you enjoyed the game.
Tubes are required for some of the  higher upgrade levels, as upgrades need additional material types later.
Yes, there is an ending:
MINOR SPOILER AHEAD
Far to the left is a unique boss alien significantly larger and more powerful than the usual aliens.
When beating it, you win the game. Afterwards, you can continue playing, but obviously then there is no real challenge left, currently.

Holy heck, i love this!

The aesthetic and style is simple but it's one of those games that has a lot more going for it then what it may seem like. The upgrading mechanic is really fun and interesting and really brings a lot of replay-ability to the game. The upgrades in general are neat and mostly well scaled.

Over all this is one heck of a fun, simple yet complex games, nicely done, :D!

I've got a say its such a beutiful art, and the atmosphere you create was simply awsome, really cool game. You do an amazing job!

Fun game and well executed concept! I did feel like the horizontal movement (particularly in the air) was a little sluggish at times and made some fights and mad dashes back to my spaceship a little tough, but that did not stop me from enjoying my time with the game.

Excellent audio, could listen to the music all day! It works amazingly with the visuals to create a mysterious atmosphere. I loved finding out what was lurking in the dark.
I'm on the fence about the jumping - on one hand it plays nicely with gravity and momentum, to give a nice sense of jumping on a low gravity planet. On the other, it can be a bit awkward at times, and make it hard for me to get where I want to go.
Overall, great game!
