Dang, this was hard. The timer goes out really fast!
Fun twist on the theme tho! and the UI looks dope too :)
Shame there wasn't much with the story. A few lines at the start, and maybe between levels (why do we need to reach the end? is this some sort of Red Light, Green Light thing ?) would have helped a bit.

Well, I ...finished it :D even though I read the reviews first and realized this didn't actually have any Ink in it, hehe. That said, Ink would've been -super- easy to add to this, and a great fit. For example you could've had a narrator that comments on your deaths, or little storybits that happen between levels. Maybe for the next jam you can consider actually implementing ink ;)
This was fun to play. The difficulty balancing was good and I felt myself improving, though I will say I didn't get all the way to level 10, got to 8. Instructions are clear and it's good to have the time bar in the top center of screen so I can see it quickly. Didn't really see the theme for the jam, other than eye above the bar, and the narrative component (and ink) wasn't there, as someone already mentioned. In future just make sure you read the jam requirements carefully.
Nice, cute little platformer. Level 10 was really hard. I could see speedrunners having a ton of fun with it.
Three things annoyed me while playing:
1. The camera movement didn't lead the character, so on the easier levels, I had to go a little slower to see where I was going. Then again, that gives an incentive to memorize the levels in order to go faster.
2. Lack of coyote time. You don't fall off when you are right on the edge, but you also can't jump, which made certain jumps, especially level 10 where precision is so important, a lot more annoying, because it feels like it doesn't register my jump.
3. Hit box size. This has already been said.
A couple times, I would jump at the same time as landing on a bounce pad, and would go flying up twice as far. That was really fun.
Certainly an innovative take on the theme. It's more of a game than a story, meaning there's almost no story at all. As for the mechanics: Almost everyone else has commented on them, so for the sake of not repeating the same things, I'm leaving them out.
It was a fun and simplistic game overall (though by no means easy to code I'd guess)
This was a pretty fun platformer, albeit not exceptionally innovative. Not really sure where Ink was used, but I'll trust you. Definitely fits the theme.
0/10, no hidden secrets on the left side of the screen (I think).
Nah, I'm just kidding. This is a ton of work for just a few days, and I genuinely think you did a great job. If I had to pick anything to complain about it would probably be the camera, since it feels a little slow, but on the flip side it promotes memorizing levels in order to get faster speeds, so I think it works to your benefit overall. The game feels a little out of place in a jam that's said to focus on storytelling and narrative games, but as long as it uses ink I don't think it really matters, as it fits the theme really well anyways!
Scared? Sorry, I'm a bit confused. If you mean scared of ratings or something, yours is WAY more of a game than mine is! Never meant any offense, I really was trying to be funny and I like your game. I just try to offer something beyond just "I like it" since a lot of people tend to want to work on their stuff further once the jam is over.
needed the screen scrolling to be a bit faster to keep up with character speed, but otherwise fun
Nice game with a cute style, I enjoyed playing it. I died a lot in the last level. Once I got used to the controls and learned how to jump and avoid obstacles it was possible to move the character very precise. The amount of levels is very impressive for the short time of this Jam.
You absolutely don't suck. At all. This game is so so cool (and even more taking into consideration the time), I wouldn't even know how to start making this, for real. Graphical stuff has been my forever enemy. Be proud of what you did! I just commented on that so to look for something constructive to tell over here, but I really enjoyed it and tried several times (because I suck and keep dying haha).
Nice job!
Just a few critiques.
The controls were just a little wobbly for more of a twitch platformer, especially taking into account a time limit.
I’d also make the hitbox for the player a little bit smaller than the character. I felt like I didn’t hit the spikes, but still got killed by them a few times. Could be tied to the controls.
