I found this incredibly difficult, I only managed to get two items in the box before I eventually gave up, I'm really sorry. The concept and skeleton of the game are really strong, I think it just needs a little more refining and polishing, however what you managed to achieve in a weekend jam was great. Good job!
Where in the world are the headphones?
read the description of the game
I'm not gonna lie, I spent the last five minutes trying to get the books in the box but I still can't haha
This was fun, I started by moving around with the grappling hook because it just felt good :D
Really cool game, and one of few that was actually 3D! Apart from what was already said here. I think that players should have more control over their movement, for example, increasing the height of jumps and walking speed. I really liked the menu being like the sheets of paper, maybe finding some cool pencil font might have made it even cooler! Great game overall!
I find it funny to pack stuff as an flying ant lol :D I like different difficulties but for a jam I would recommend spending more time on the game itself instead of having such a wide variety of difficulties. Liked the minecraft blocky art as well.
The difficulties didn't take much time at all. It was just a few lines of code to set the difficulty to playerprefs and then retrieve it in the game and change the timer accordingly. So it was only like 5 mins or so to implement. However, I think adding the endless mode was not a good idea because I didn't have time to playtest and bugfix it. I playtested it after the jam was over and the respawning didn't work after a score of 20 or so. Oh well. Thanks for the feedback!
I like it, the hook mechanic works well. I also liked the menu interface and the options. Great job!
Grappling hooks are always fun, so this game immediately has that going for it. I think the gameplay was generally solid, though sometimes it was a bit tough to get an object to go where you wanted. Though I found a bit of a bug where if you grapple along the group you can gain enough momentum that you can't actually walk for quite a while, you have to use the grapple again to regain control. Also there seemed to be a click at the end of the jump sound and it was a bit annoying. But overall it was a fun experience.
Really cool game! Had a bit of bug (which you saw) but apart from that very solid. Needs a longer song though :D
First of course, thank you for your submission, it was a pleasure to be able to play your game!
I played this game for about 20 minutes, It had a lot of ups and downs. I found it very difficult much of the time to pull certain objects. For instance: one of my targest was milk, but the milk was in the fridge, so i pull the door open, but the milk is behind another object and on the bottom level beneath a grate. Unfortunately I couldn't pull the other object to the side in order to get the milk out, so I couldn't pack it away. I don't know what the solution is here on a design level, maybe something like when you grapple an object that you are actively hunting, the hit box is shrunk to make it easier for the player to grab it, that way it's harder for things to get stuck? that may break your intended design.
I well say, I was really impressed to be playing a 3d game for this game jam, I really like the voxel-like 3d art, very well done from an art stand point. It must have been a lot of work to get this all going so i'm really impressed on the assets made here.
There is sooooooo much content here for a game jam game, incredible. I'm really really impressed with all the modes you've put into the game.
The music has a nice little charm to it too.
If you have time, please play and rate my submission too!
thank you!
Thank you so much! I was planning on doing a 2d game, but couldn't come up with an idea that I liked that fit the theme, so I decided to go with this idea in 3d. I barely used blender before the game jam, but I did follow blender guru's super basic tutorial beforehand in case I wanted to go 3d for the jam. I definitely learned a lot about blender/modeling during the jam. I'm glad to see feedback that my decision to go 3d instead of 2d despite being far more comfortable in 3d than 2d was a good decision.
was a lil confused at the start, but once i got going, it was really fun
Best game I have played. Not saying much because I don't play many video games. I like scrabble. It looked like a lot of work went into this game. I hope other enjoy it and I think they will.
