Astonishing! I enjoyed the comical toast dialogue and was pleasantly surprised to find the toaster-themed doodle-jump-like beyond. Nice job!
Very nicely done! I think 3-D pixelated graphics are a pretty cool aesthetic and you definitely pulled it off! The attention to detail is also really awesome to see. The orbs of smoke in the background really drive home that feeling of escaping the flames of eternal damnation because you burned your toast!
This game is creative and very polished! Everything fits well in the Pico-8 art style, color scheme and the 3D toasting section all just looks cohesive. The Toaster Hell section had a classic, arcade feel especially with the add on of the high score. Although the game doesn't go in depth or expand with new mechanics on gameplay, the difficulty scaled really well making it fun to replay. Can't wait for Refrigerator to close out the trilogy!
I love the vibe of this game a lot, especially the beginning. Everything feels very polished and the core game is a lot of fun! (Btw, my high score is 23,630 :b)
Awesome game! First off, it's cool to see you continuing your theme of making games based off of kitchen appliances, it's always funny. I really liked the opening part, where you (not so subtly) encourage the player to burn the toast with the skull meter on the dial. Those types of things in games always make me laugh and I thought you executed on that really nicely. The main gameplay mechanic is a cool take on the theme and the 3D graphics in the 2d space look really satisfying. But if i'm being honest, my favorite feature was the bread.
Overall, this game felt really polished and complete! I just have a few nitpicks I think could make the game even better.
I think the music used during gameplay was a little too tame, and almost felt like it was trying to lead to something more intense. I think if the gameplay music was extended to include a more intense loop following the current song, it could've helped the game feel a bit more exciting.
Additionally, while I really enjoyed the toast mechanic, I think it could've been expanded on with some sort of timer to pressure the player to use the toast instead of holding on to it for later. Maybe this could reuse the idea of burning toast?
I enjoyed the intro scene pushing players to burn the toast to start the game, I think it added to the overall feeling of the game by providing an interesting simple story to give it context! It would be fun to see that tied into the gameplay as well.
