So now that I kinda understand the game, I've realised that it is extremely fun to play! My only complaint is that it ends! XD or that it ends and loops back to the beginning without telling you lol.
No but seriously please work on this one after the Jam and release it on Steam or something. I just want more puzzles and I wanna see where the story leads! 10/10 best game in the Jam (minus the geometricness I suppose)
Thank you for your kind review. We are glad that the gameplay loop is fun right now. We are planning on continuing with the development after the jam to fix the rough edges.
This is such a clever idea! Just aesthetically, I love making a Pepe Silvia board. And using just these puzzle relations between pieces to evoke a sense of a broader narrative is really cool.
I immediately posted the meme in our group chat haha! I'm glad you had fun with our entry. And you have a point. This game probably could be made better by giving more narrative context to each piece so it comes well together during gameplay.
Super cool entry! I love the music, and the gameplay has really fun strategy at it's core which I really love. My only critique would be the lack of in game instructions, as I had to read the description to understand what to do, and I would've liked that to be within the game. Despite that, this is a super awesome entry!
We do not make it easy for the player to immediately understand what is going on. Thanks for taking your time and for the uplifting review!
I think the game is clever and a jam is a jam so it being confusing isn't a big shock but it did prove annoying the first time I played, there just feels like a lack of clarity to what I need to do and what I'm trying to accomplish and even with the notepad I was fairly confused on what to connect with what. But the art and feel of everything is great I think just with a bit more info given to the player the game could be much better. overall a pretty solid entry, good job but like with every game, things can be improved. also rip Geometry but it probably wouldn't fit so not the biggest deal.
You are right. A lot of players struggled with no clear tutorial. We can see that. I hope the text on the game site did help a bit at least. We tried to implement the geometry theme through the shapes of the items but compared to other entries it just does not come through. Thanks for playing!
X flies vibe i like that, nearly 5k but I cant achieve it
Thanks for your rating! Sometimes you just have bad luck and the pieces don't work well together.
Okay, now THIS is some AMAZING creativity! This is the most atmospheric and professional-feeling entry I've played thus far, and I got SO close to 5000 points (4980). The lore, graphics, and music makes for a really cool environment and you've executed it wonderfully, I can already see this being worked on further for extra content and polish and be placed on Steam for a good price. I'm not usually a huge story person when it comes to games, but I got really immersed in the world that you made and I felt like a true detective! :>
Overall, incredible work on this entry and well done for implementing the theme so creatively! I'll definitely be coming back to beat my high score :P One thing I'll add is that I could only pick up items about 30% of the time, and this could very possibly due to the web/engine performing strangely in the browser, but is something to note. I'd love to see this game worked on further! :)
Thank you for your thoughtful und uplifting review. It means a lot to us because for some members in our team (5 people) it was their first jam and we were brainstorming around 3 hours to come up with something.
The item pickup problem sounds strange. We have to look further into it. We have ideas to expand the game and polish it even more and see where it leads us. So thanks for encouraging us.
No worries!! This is already an incredible project, but knowing that it was a few of y'all's first time jamming, you've done a great job! The brainstorming was certainly effective (I know how painful it can be, though!) because the whole project felt super polished and well-thought-out. Looking forward to any future updates! :)
Took me quite a while to grasp on what's going on here until it hit me.
This game is so clever, esthetically pleasing and so fun to play!
Its a fun contrast as a game that doesn't try to rush you, and is true to itself for the slow puzzle game it is.
interesting take on the theme, with a satisfying gameplay.
been playing it for a while current high score is 6730
I am glad you took your time to test the game. It's so satisfying to see people wanting to reach a good score. That's the best feedback we can get. We appreciate it.
Very cool idea which takes the theme in a new direction! Once you understand what to do, the game becomes very satisfying. I also loved this unique artstyle! Great game!
I have to admit, it is a slow burner. But thanks for taking the time to enjoy it.
At first, it's a bit weird to understand but once you start to know what to connect with each cards it becomes VERY addicting !!! Great job to the team i really had fun beating the highscore (bc im a pro gamer you know), the music is really cozy and blends really well with the art style. GG !
Thanks for your kind words. We appreciate it. Now we have a new score to beat...Damn.
I really liked the game and it’s concept. It’s a bit confusing at first but it doesn’t take long to get the hang of it. I enjoyed the twist on the theme as well. Well Done!
Thanks for the kind words!
I'm confused on how to play. I can hover over items and get their descriptions but nothing else.
You have to drag the items to the board with the mouse (left klick). We should probably write a short tutorial. Please tell me if it is working this way. Thank you!
very unique and fun, wouldve been alot easier to control if you could redo lines between thing but other than that i quite liked it, though there wasnt a ton of geometry
Thanks for the feedback!
I think there could be a lot of optimization done for the connections, you are right. Geometry is only shown through the individual elements, we dived more into the pattern-theme.
This is a game that I'm going to have to come back to; the gameplay is intriguing, but I don't fully understand it at the moment.
Beyond that, I am extremely impressed by both the music and the visuals (granted you kinda skipped the geometric part, but I'm kinda glad that you did); both are very well polished and feel as though they come from a full game.
Its also a cool take on the theme; certainly not one I would've ever thought of.
And as I say, I will coming back to this one to update my rating a review; this is clearly something that's gonna take a while to fully appreciate.
Thanks for your kind words. Our artists put a lot of thought into the presentation.
It`s a game where you have to take your time at first I think.
