- The level of content and polish is certainly impressive for a jam game, and the implementation of the theme was really cool - I liked that I could use myself as a meat shield for the egg and tank the incoming hits, it added an extra level of thought to the movement which is always good to see. I think you could drop the "sprint" mechanic and just make the player always move at that speed. I basically never let go of the shift key, which does tend to hurt after a little while! The obstacles on the ground hurt my ability to move around, I think there are a few physics glitches there perhaps? And I would like some indicators to see where remaining enemies are, particularly when there's only one or two left this wave, I found myself running around in circles trying to find the gameplay ;) Overall though, they are minor issues with a really solid entry. Good job!
How does your game relate to the theme?
You are a cyborg chicken that is invincible and you must defend the chick that dies if it receives 1 hit. Enemies receive 1 hit too (depending on the weapon). Defeating enemies adds points and if you kill multiple enemies, your points multiplier increases, but if your cyborg chicken receives a hit, the points multiplier is reset.

Love the UI, Great work by Erick! 👏👏 ACHIEVEMENTS?? damn that took me by surprise and is impressive for a game jam entry! It took me a bit to get used to finding the rhythm but that's probably just me haha. Complete game but The one thing that I would say needs work is the look of the game, it can be greatly improved by using any free toon shader from the asset store, I would suggest to give it a shot, other than that, nice idea to keep the egg alive as it provides more depth and strategical angle to the gameplay!
Thank you very much for the shader improvements, we will add one that will greatly improve the visuals. We were also impressed with Erick's work, since we met him at the previous Jam (end of September).
We were very happy with what we were able to do, since we started when we had 10 days left to submit the game to Hyplay. We had just finished another game in a Jam and took 1 or 2 days off before starting to develop the Nuggets Machine.
Well done the game is realy fun (but a bit frustrating) and polish, i realy love the juice and the atmosphere. Well done
Thank you very much! It's really frustrating. We've made some balance adjustments to the project and will be uploading updates once the Jam is complete.
A lot of people submitted top down wave shooters for this jam but this is by far the most polished with the best overall presentation.
The gameplay seemed fun at first but after a few rounds I found it extremely frustrating due to the chick. Having to keep it alive is an interesting idea for a game like this since it forces you to be more methodical and use cover, but a few details make it much more frustrating than interesting.
The way the chick follows you should be changed. Having it only start moving when its a certain distance away makes it feel very unresponsive and because of how fast enemies shoot, you’ll end up in situations where it’s basically impossible to get it out of harms way. It should always move to try and be behind you or you should have a mechanic where you can press a button to make it run behind you or something similar. As it is, I found myself losing in ways that felt totally unfair.
Another issue is that enemies can spawn anywhere in between rounds which can lead to you getting surrounded and losing due to bad luck. In one playthrough, the moment round 2 started I was surrounded by 2 robots who immediately shot the instant they spawned in. This makes the game feel frustrating and unfair. A system to spawn enemies away from the player could fix this OR a having a few seconds before the round starts where the player can see the enemies but they can’t attack.
The other issue is the aim not being aligned with the cursor. Obviously this is just a glitch/mistake and not a deliberate design decision but it definitely makes the game uncomfortable and difficult to play. Since you can’t easily protect the chick when it’s just standing in place and when enemies spawn around you, the best defense is a good offense but when your bullets don’t go where you want them to it compounds all the other issues.
One last note is that I think the player should move a bit faster by default and should also be a bit floaty since they’re literally floating. Starting and stopping on a dime is not very interesting gameplay.
You guys did a good job creating a very polished jam game, but I feel like it had a few minor issues that added up to make it a frustrating gameplay experience. With some tweaks and fixes though, this could be a much more fun and interesting game.
Thank you very much for the great review. This aiming issue was something we saw during the jam, but we couldn't solve it in time, which would have eliminated other features and details that the game has. This is a problem that will be fixed as a priority.
Regarding enemies appearing out of nowhere, we thought about adding some effects that would show that the enemies would appear so many seconds after they did. I believe that this could alleviate the problem of not knowing where the enemies come from and not being able to position yourself in time.
Your idea of positioning the chick on the back or following only when you press a button is quite interesting. We will pay attention to your analysis.
It draws attention to how well-finished the game is, with menus and tutorials, which we rarely see in jam games. The gameplay is fun and fits well with the theme. I liked the particle effects, simple but effective. Only the aim is not very precise.
Thank you very much for the review. This crosshair is a point we will focus on to resolve.
Really good game ! The only thing i wanna mention is the angle when we shoot , it s not exactly where the cursor is pointing then sometimes i miss my shot and the poor egg dies ( so sad )
Nice game, I like the idea of having to protect something very vulnerable. I do feel like the camera is a bit restrictive, especially since the player fights enemies from all directions. Overall, good work. Nice graphics!
The guest login doesn't work, it brings me to the hyplay login :/ But nice entry :)

I enjoyed this one a lot, great job!
Beautiful looking game.
Since the gun is in the side I missed a lot of shots in the beginning.
The diagonal view made the enemies in front really easy to defeat but bottom enemies really tough.
I just started memorizing wherever the enemies are.
Other than that, the game is great in every other aspect.
The game is really polished and fun to play.
Thanks for the feedback. I saw that you achieved the top 2 on the leaderboard. GREAT JOB!
Thank you for rating our game! We are reading your feedback and making corrections. After the results are received, the game will be updated. Feel free to suggest improvements! 🐔♥️🎉
It's a visual and auditory delight, congratulations on such a polished game. The best part was the talking chicken xD
Interested little world you've built, had fun blasting away. Will come back and try and make the leaderboard later.
After publishing the results we will release a new version. Corrections after publication lol.
Really fantastic visuals! I was very impressed by the UI polish and 3d models in the game. I did have a little bit of difficulty with aiming well to keep my combo up. I think it was partly because of the camera angle that caused me to consistently shoot slightly off target from where I was expecting it to hit.
What did the chips and big engine block items on ground do? I picked them up but it wasn’t immediately obvious to me. I saw there was an action to change weapons on the game description, but that didnt seem to work for me?
Just wanted to repeat, but the amount of visual polish on this was fantastic.
The chips are bullets for the weapons. When you collect the big engine block you gain another weapon. We didn't have time to explain that. Amazed to see your feedback.
Great UI! Cool concept using your self as a shield for egg. Nice job!
Hell yeaaahhh this is underated, the game feels so clean, the sound feels a bit low tho, and w def need enemy markers for easy locating
Amazing Job!
The graphics are giving me "Ape Escape" vibes.
Fun little game and I enjoyed the concept of it. The UI was really clean.
Thank you very much.
Its a fun game and definitely a challenging one. My only critique is that on medium to long distances the bullets don't exactly go where i have aimed.
Thank you very much, we have noted it here to make the changes.
