What system is this designed for?
The Expanse RPG/AGE System

What are the necessary assumptions of your adventure?
This adventure can be run as part of an overarching adventure or as a one shot. It assumes player characters (PCs) are traveling in a ship (be it theirs or not, as if they’re taking a ride) and that they have access to vac suits. This adventure happens in the asteroid belt, specifically on the surface of an asteroid (name it as you wish) but it can be adapted to happen in the chain of asteroids that share the orbits of planets like Earth, Mars, Jupiter etc.

Is there any sensitive content in this adventure?
This adventure portrays a dog infected with the protomolecule that, somehow, manage to survive the infection. The animal has blue eyes, tongue and teeth, as well as the interior of its ears, and has only three legs. Beware if someone in your group has recently lost a dog (or another pet) or doesn’t deal well with the possibility of beating this fictional dog, as it might try to attack the PCs. Feel free to adapt it and use another animal (a crocodile, maybe?).

Nicely captures the feel of The Expanse and good layout with interesting ideas.

Thanks a lot!

The metro car/trailer park setting location is just so much fun, with their nutso dog chasing away intruders... reminds me of my childhood, haha! For real though, it's practically refreshing to read such a domestic (domestic, as in dealing with the home and normal life) problem for a SF adventure.

My favorite mechanical bit is the dog's innate radio-jamming ability.

My favorite narrative consequence only applies if this adventure is set post-Eros incident. How would the players react and deal with the owners in that case? The dog isn't a monster like the vomit-zombies, but it's still a dangerous protomolecule hybrid. That's an angle that could be further exploited in the adventure, especially knowing how valuable that dog would be to potential buyers for the players.

Also, after reading your adventure, I better understand what kind of rpg writing style you prefer!

Thank you! I'm happy it made a positive emotional impact on you. I wanted to present that contradiction between normal people living their life while there's something uncommon and important going on.

Regarding the dog and potential buyers, I can imagine all the Sol System would be after the players if the discovered that. The OPA would be very interested in the matter too, and we could have an interesting conflict growing here. Could be the beginning of an overarching campaign.

That's my first time writing an adventure, and I'm probably influenced by the way the official adventures are written. After reading both your comments here and on your page, I re-read your adventure and could understand it better. I might write a one-page adventure soon for the Community's jam, so it's a chance to experiment another way of dealing with the narrative information.

Really like seeing The Expanse RPG represented in this jam. Love the Phoebe Metro car and the Dog eating all the fuel pellets and running out of beer!!

Hey thanks a lot!

Nice moral dilemma with the infected dog, no one wants to hurt a dog.

Developer

Thanks! Well it's a hunting dog and it's supposed to be aggressive towards the PCs. The GM can change the balance here to make it more or less likely for the players to fight it.

My favourite part of this is right at the beginning when it suggests, if the players are sensitive about harm to dogs, to use a crocodile instead. Brilliant.

Thank you! In addition to using a crocodile, how about having one of the NPCs being a Florida man?
