HOUDINI Magazine presents the Florida Man Game Jam. We’ve just recently made the move from Texas to Florida, and to celebrate this chaotic, triumphant transition, we wanted to do something fitting. The only reason we were able to pull this off—the move, the survival, the next chapter—is because of you. Audience support, donations, crowdfunding, belief. That’s what got us here. So we’re giving something back, in the most unhinged way possible: a Florida Man Game Jam. 

The concept is simple. Any type of game, any engine, any format, but the main character is Florida Man.

Your Florida Man might not be the same as somebody else’s Florida Man—but we all know what Florida Man is. The myth. The menace. The mugshot. Interpret it however you want: eating someone's face on bath salts, wresting poolside alligators, 3am Waffle House brawls, whatever it takes to beat the heat.

You’ve got 96 hours. That’s right—four days. Like a Memorial Day weekend meth binge in the Everglades.

This isn’t a ranked jam, but we will be curating our favorite entries for feature coverage in HOUDINI Magazine. We’ve tapped artists like Ultra Tetra & Salty P. Slug, among other Draculas* to help us sort through the madness and highlight the most deranged, brilliant, fever-dream creations you send our way.

We want the edge. The heat. The sleaze. The chaos. Everything in between. It’s gonna be a hot summer—and baby girl? Florida is even hotter.
