Hello everyone! Here is a basic analysis of the jam’s theme!
Classics Reimagined
Classics meanings and etymology
Etymology - From French classique or Latin classicus ‘belonging to a class or division’, later ‘of the highest class’, from classis.
Meanings
Adjectives
- Describe something typical: That’s a classic prank!
- Something that has been deemed of high quality or to be outstanding over time: A classic piece of art.
Nouns
- Something, regularly art, that has recognized and stablished value: A classic video game, like Pac-man.
- A school subject that focuses on Greek and Latin literature: A game about the Odyssey.
- A sports event: World Baseball Classic.
As you can see, the word classic covers a bunch of different topics that you can use, you don’t have to recreate a classic video game, but perhaps a Tennis Classic tournament by adding cartoon physics to it and a bomb instead of a ball. You can also do something with art, movies, books and so much more.
Reimagine meaning
To imagine or conceive something in a new way.
Pretty straight forward. But one thing you might want to consider is that reimagine has nothing to do with improving, it’s just another take, for instance: How would Gone with the Wind develop with zombies? That’s certainly not going to make that classic book better, but it’s a recreation of the story.
Hope this helps and happy jammin’ everyone!
