I loved the voxel aesthetics and the idea of having a stress bar for the cat. While i like fixed camera angles, i think the directional controls should not have the cat rotating until you press forward, it misleads you from where you want to go (maybe instead just have the cat dissobey you progressively as you run out of food?).

I couldn't finish it because i kinda got lost but the concept is amazing and the art is beatiful :).

To walk forward or rotate, just press the key, but do not hold it.  If you held the key forward, then it did nothing.

Yes, the cat will have to act on its own, but I did not have time to make AI.

Thanks for playing ;)

The graphics are amazing - I love the voxel style and the instruction sheet was cute, though I'm confused why it talks about stonks xD. I was having a lot of trouble with the gameplay unfortunately, I was pressing E on doors but most of the time they weren't opening, and the controls are really clunky. I think with some work on gameplay, you have a great style to work from.

Developer (1 edit)

Before eating or opening the door, you need to stop. This was not mentioned in the tutorial, but I thought that the player would think of it himself.

But you can scare while on the move: D

Thanks for playing ;)

I liked the concept and using this idea from the cold war to make it a game
the controls are a lot frustrating

Art is amazing and so beautiful, I want to play a full version of the game

good luck

I will fix bugs and make control more dynamic. But this will be after the vote.

This looks so good, I really want to play it...shame I don't have windows :(

Developer

No problem! This link for linux version: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ldQbK4WIqyepzvNolAqHEb6ez4iUeuYP

The link is also added to the page.

Important : This is my first Linux build. I am not able to test it for new bugs and I am not able to test it for optimization. The game on Linux can be very poor quality, it was originally intended for windows. I must warn you about this!

Thank you for your kind consideration, but unfortunately I don't have linux. However, I will rate you 5/5 stars for great developer service :D

o_0 Who are you? What are you? What is your system? XD

You shocked me by saying that you do not have Linux. Mac?

Submitted

Yes, I am embarrassingly a mac user

Developer

Mac. Ver : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ldQbK4WIqyepzvNolAqHEb6ez4iUeuYP

I don't know what files the mac needs, but I think the unity did everything right. Have a nice game. But I warn you again, I don't know what the optimization will be on the Mac.

This game has a bunch of potential, I really liked the art style and theme, it's very unique.
The problems i had are that the cat controls are too clunky, if the tank controls are necessary i feel that they could be closer to Resident Evil, in wich you can turn fast to the sides, walk backwards, sprint, quick-turn and stop by releasing a button instead of "activating the breaks" by pressing backwards, as it is right now he feels like a slow tank and gets stuck easily in corners. Another problem is the camera, sometimes it changes to angles in wich the cat is completely obscured, making the navigation even harder, also the objectives are a little bit too hard to find, maybe i missed something, but i couldn't find a single spy.
My critics here are extensive because i really feel that with some extra polish and changes the game could be really great!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback. I will improve the game, but after the jam, when the voting ends.

Control and should be clunky, because you control the cat using sound signals. And cats are freedom-loving animals and do not really like to obey if you do not feed them =)But I think you're right, the controls should be a little more dynamic and the cat itself should be a little faster. I will fix it.

In a large hotel, it can be really hard to find spies. By default, the hotel has 25 rooms, which turned out to be too many. I wanted to make a mini-map, but I could not keep up with the time, so I gave to player the opportunity to customize the hotel for himself in the main menu. Try to create a hotel with fewer rooms.

What do you think about radio and TV? I let my friends play and they all said that they were scared with the cat when the TV or radio trigged XD

Indeed, i forgot that i could change the spawn rates, thats actually pretty cool.
And yes, the radio actually got me haha!

It would be cool to see the game patched in the future.

The game looks good but the tutorial confused me. Can you try my game, I try to get and give as many ratings as possible.

Developer(+1)

What confused you in tutorial ?

Submitted

It's full of stuff and kind of messy. I couldn't really follow on it. If you answer I will see the answer in like 12 hours, thought I should say this.

I can't tell if it's a bug or I'm just confused, but after I go into the vent, the whole screen just goes black. I can still hear the moving sound effects, but I can't see anything or get the screen not black again.

Developer

It should not be. You must be transported to the next room and the screen turns on again.  Can you tell which room it was in? Have you tried switching cameras on a black screen?

Developer

I understood where it is. It's in the first room. This is a bug that I will fix. Although it seemed to me that I turned off the ventilation in this room.
