This year’s jam is held in conjunction with SG60, marking 60 years of Singapore’s independence. We invite participants of all backgrounds, whether you’re a programmer, artist, writer, musician, or just curious about game-making, to create small, personal, and meaningful games inspired by heritage.

  • 🏛️ Cultural focus: Instead of abstract themes, we encourage participants to draw from traditions, places, family stories, and cultural practices.
  • 🤝 Community-driven: The jam is part of the Game Dev Guild, a grassroots group supporting indie and hobbyist developers in Singapore. Find out more in the Discord in the above link.  We are a LearnX Community in NLB
  • 🌏 Open to all: You don’t need to be in Singapore to join—the jam is hosted online, and anyone around the world is welcome to participate, but if you're in Singapore, it is highly recommended you come for the opening and closing ceremonies if you're available
  • 🧑‍🏫Mentors will be available in discord! Including audio implementation and game engine help!

Why join?
Because games are not only about entertainment—they’re a medium for preserving memories, sharing experiences, and sparking conversations. Whether it’s a story about your grandmother’s cooking, your daily caifan, a neighborhood you grew up in, or a playful reimagining of tradition, your game can be a piece of living heritage.

Key Details

  • Tools: Any engine or format (digital, tabletop, interactive fiction, etc.)
  • Submissions: Games should explore heritage in any way—personal, cultural, historical, or speculative.
  • Judging: This is a non-competitive jam. The focus is on expression, learning, and sharing.
  • Theme and diversifiers will be revealed by the opening ceremony.
