  • I really enjoyed the storytelling with the journal and the diary - it felt very immersive because I was interacting with the world to learn the plot. The moment where you walk into the church and see the light over the podium feels very momentous, so great job with the environmental storytelling! It does not feel like the game is finished yet; I could not find anything new to interact with after the diary in the morning. However, this is a promising start to what I can see being a very thrilling game, so I would love to see you continue working on it! :)

This looks like a great start. I like the world you have built, but there still isn't much to tell the player what to do. I would consider renaming the quest log to more of a journal as it is more of a past events as oppose to what you are planning to do.

I know it's not a lot but this is awesome. I love the look of everything and the creepy, ominous feeling is perfect. No music really adds to the atmosphere. I really like where this was going and would love to see more.

And one quick tip for efficiency. For the trees on top of the mountains, the ones that you'll never interact with. You could billboard them or even just render them as a 2d still image. That way you don't have trees popping in and out for render distance. Also you'd have less 3d objects to manage render wise.

Good job on this :)

I love the look of the game! It feels very ominous and kind of like Pathologic 2, even from the get go it made me uneasy and like there's more going to be going on than meets the eye.

It looks like from your game design doc that y'all did all the 3D modeling? I'm very impressed, it has a cool N64ish but realistic look.

You've definitely got a good start and I think if you continue the project then you're heading in the right direction!

I like the new location!

I think I've said it before, but I enjoy the world design, choice of original work to riff off of, ambience, and little details like the deadbolt. The day-schedules may be a little ambitious even for longer-term development, but I do hope you consider working on this further, or adapting some of these details into future projects. While far from finished, it is a promising start!
