What a phenomenal Goons Hack. Lords of Mars presents its mechanisms through a unique lens of fiction that is not often utilized in table top spaces. The visual presentation is outstanding, evocative, and, in many instances, stunning.
Amazing little game with lots of hackable potential.
A really intriguing take on Tunnel Goons, one that gets into horror in an implied semi-modern / semi-post-apocalyptic setting. The equipment list makes the setting seem modern-ish, the dooms and ruin and city detailed within imply a civilization clinging onto the brink of ruin as hideous monsters emerge to claim the world.
You can lose endurance from seeing horrible things or getting into fights. You can explore ruins or city-crawl in an awful metropolis. It's a fantastic setup and the way the setting is implied but not detailed leaves lots of interesting questions to be hashed out, either by the GM or at the table.
