Good Fake Jam

What is a gamejam?

"Jam" is a reference to musician jam sessions. The goal is to come together and make a videogame, or non-digital game like a board game or card game. Participants rapidly prototype game designs and hopefully inject new ideas to help grow the game industry. We share a common theme and constraints. We ask participants to create a game from beginning to end in a prescribed time (maximum of 48 hours). The brief time span is meant to help encourage creative thinking to result in small but innovative and experimental games. https://globalgamejam.org/what-game-jam

Rules

Ownership

  • You may share any code and assets used for creating the game, that you are legally allowed to share without breaking any other legal agreements. So don't share any code belonging to your employer or anyone except yourself or anything that is under NDA or similar.
  • All Uploads (code, assets, executables, etc) will be shared and licensed under the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Creative Commons License.
  • The games remain their creators to do what they want with, within their licence agreements, after the Good Fake Jam.

Teams

  • Teams can be as big as one wants. We recommend a small size (2-4) to be faster.
  • All teams are expected to upload a playable version or links/instructions to enable visitors to the game page to play their game.
  • A presentation per team will be given right after the game jam.
  • Hardware
  • Bring your own hardware. You are allowed to use peripherals from the company if required (screens, mouse, keyboard, etc) but be sure they are back in place before the next working day!
  • Only WiFi will be provided, no wired connection will be available.

And remember, we do this to have a good time, share some passion, get out of your comfort zone, this is not a competition, just have fun, talk to new people and learn new things!
