Cool idea! I included it in my Godot Community Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Haha thank you for playing my games :D you played another game of mine not that long ago. Also we meet about two years ago at Castle Game Jam in Sweden. I went there this year aswell.
Also me and my friend made a game for coffee jam that you should try when you have the time :) its still work in progress though :P

Simple and good, it needs more challenge, like harvesting coal from the road.
Great concept! It's a bit too easy - you should have to work harder to balance speed and overheating. I like the colorful little enemies trying to steal the ice - more steady attacks would make the player have to manage the train while frantically clicking on baddies.
Great work for your first Godot game. Now practice more Godot by expanding and polishing the game - I would love to play more!
Congrats on your first Godot project, it's pretty well done! The graphics are quite nice, and the concept is also fun :)
The temperature/coal mechanics could be pushed further though, I found it relatively simple to throw some coal without overheating and then just go along. Even overheating doesn't really bring negative effects, you can't use coal anymore but you don't really need it as you're going full speed ahead. Clicking the bad guys is quite easy so they never got any of my ice cubes :)
Maybe the bad guys could come from more directions, with variable speed, and maybe have a way to cool down your engine (or the engine temperature could drop down faster by itself) so that you're forced to switch between pushing them away and reloading coal.
At any rate, for a jam it's a pretty good entry :)
Thanks you so much :) yes balancing is something I fond really Hard to do. I Will try to add some of your ideas to ser what I can do :) Thanks for playing!
I spent almost the entire first day implementing the map generation xD. Next jam I will try to prototype a map maybe in Tiled. I like Godot so Will also try to increase My Speed using it.
Hi Nangi,
To properly compete in the jam, you should provide your entry's source code as per the jam rules:
> Source code under proper open source licenses should be provided for each game
You can upload a ZIP of your project folder on itch.io, or provide a link to a version control repository, or both, as you prefer. If you don't want to share your code that's up to you of course, but then your entry won't be in the final ratings.
Thanks I totally missed this! I will do!
EDIT: Added a zip with the project folder! Thanks again!
im crashing with: "couldnt find mono in the registry". Probably a godot bug though
You are missing the Mono sdk
Install instructions
You have to install Mono SDK 5.12 first.
Linux: Run "sudo apt install mono-complete" in terminal.
Windows/Mac: Mono SDK download link: https://download.mono-project.com/archive/5.12.0/
I will try fixing this when Im getting home after work :)
please do fix it, your game looks very interesting
Should be fixed now! :)
Players shouldn't need to have the Mono SDK installed though if you're distributing the exported version (unless it's a bug).
I built My game with the c# version of the engine but write it with gdscript. Did I miss checking some variable?
EDIT: I built this with the non-mono stuff and now it works.
