Awesome game! Really fit the theme. However, in the end, there wasn't much to do.

Game Description
defending your base with some music-powered defenses!
How does your game tie into the theme?
the idea is that as you place towers each tower is randomly assigned notes to play in sequence, creating musical chaos. you can use the sequence editor to rearrange notes, and as you create more musical sequences (controlling the chaos), the towers will deal more damage, improving your defense!

This was really cool. As I was playing, I thought, "it would be nice if there was a beat" and right then the percussion towers appeared. It would be cool to see this expanded into something bigger. Really nice work!
Awesome concept! I can see this being expanded on in really fun ways, you've got a great system set up here. Maybe add some more delays in enemies appearing in lanes (e.g. swap up which lanes have enemies in them) to spice up the arrangements going on every now and then, because one of my favorite parts is the winding-down at the end of each wave as lanes slowly finish.
Very cool game! The music system is super cool and it's fun to see the synergy bullets fly. I would've liked some fail condition, but I get that making the music system must have taken forever lol. Great work on the game!
Very original idea - didn't really had an idea what caused the bullets to fly or how to change the "music" ... but it was a fun melodic experience.
Great first contribution!
thanks! yea i didn't do a great job of conveying that stuff but the turrets only fire when they see enemies and you could rearrange the order of each sequence with the lil menu that pops up when u click on the thing at the top. i should have spent more time making all that clearer for sure
thanks for playing!!
What a nice idea! I love games that embed music in the gameplay. Would love to have some indication of progress or score or levels and a way to change how the music plays. (maybe there is one, but I didn't figure it out) Well done with the wildcards!
Okay I really like this idea like a lot. I think that you should definitely keep iterating on this! I think with some tweaking this could be really fun and satisfying. My main thing is the samples that are used are a bit harsh/have some noises in them. The notes that are added don't always harmonize that well together to my ears. I think if you got the generative music aspect/sequencer part down the rest would work really well. Keep it up! I would love to play a more refined version of this game!
Also I enjoyed the minimal art style, I think you did a great job of making it aesthetically pleasing with a small amount of colors and shapes!
I'll preface this by saying that I don't play a lot of rhythm or musical games so my impression could be a naive or under-informed one, but... This is one of those games where, now that I've seen it, I can't believe I've never seen it before. This game probably has my favorite central game idea that I've seen in this jam. A tower defense game and a DAW/MIDI-editor actually share so many fundamental mechanics and you've tapped into their commonalities brilliantly. There's so much to be mined from this concept. I'd really encourage you to continue working on it after the jam and seeing where the game wants you to take it. There's something really novel and promising here, I think.
Great idea, well executed. It was a little unclear to me how to progress, but with enough trial and error I was able to get some of those pesky red diamonds off the level :) The musical aspect of the game is definitely fresh.
thanks! i didn't manage to find the time to implement a wave counter or anything (its much harder when you can't just use text lol) but the waves do just ramp up over time, there isn't much progression other than that. i think i probably made it too difficult since i also didn't make much time for playtesting. thanks for playing!!
This game is a vibe! I'm a big fun of TD and music games so this was a great combo! Great concept and execution!

Wow, I loved this one! What an original idea! I got far too engrossed into rearranging the shooting order and let my towers get destroyed by the enemies 😂
What a fun and peculiar idea. I love games that tie gameplay to sounds or melodies. I didn't went full "show don't tell" in my submission, I limited that only to levels, while you implemented the concept into your whole game, which is pretty cool while maintaining an usable tutorial. Nicely done!
