Simple gameplay, but effective atmosphere. You did a good job with the art and atmosphere. It helped that everything was maximally cohesive, it all just clicked and made sense together.

The play space was large, but I feel like that added to the bewildering nature and the game definitely seemed to mess with your perception and placement within the space (I distinctly remember changing location once in a seamless and head-scratching way. My one note would be that a little outro piece of music would have been nice for the ending. The endless ambience had kind of run its course by that point. Small nitpick, though. Very quality stuff.

Great entry!

Fairly good atmosphere kept the tension high. Fairly interesting story though I don't think I fully understood the ending. Did miss things for a while though that was due to the fact I was walking near the tracks, ended up missing things at the top of the area especially the ticket booth. I agree with other commenters that shrinking the play space would help with leading the player took me a fairly long time to realize that the area was looping.

Solid entry overall, Great Job!

I regret to say this, but I had to give up at one point (after the toilet) because I again needed to search what to do next and the walking speed and not being able to run was too cumbersome. sorry. I am actually keen to know what the plot of the game is, so spoiler me if you will, but I had to quit there.

Hey, no problem, thank you for playing anyway!

After the toilet scene there is a new fork up the corridor. You then reach a dead end where you get confronted by the ghost, who gives you a ticket. This ultimately allows you to leave the station by train. Initially we intended to put a cutscene there, that would nudge you in the right direction, but the time forbade it.

I like it, thanks for this Entry, i hope your game will win this jam =D

i like the art, story and atmophere ( lighting)

i would prefer, to implement a sprint mechanic

I liked the art style a lot. The movement was a bit slow considering how big the area was though. I wonder why the ending happened the way it did though, leaves more questions than answers which is pretty cool. Good job!

Thank you for playing!
Yeah, we had a few dialogue lines and SFX that unfortunately didn't make it into the game due to missing time. I think they would've tied the atmosphere and ending better together. But we're still proud the way the game turned out :)

That was a solid game. creepy AF. I agree with Chipper that the space was too big. Like, it did give you a lost feeling, but since there was no running, it just made the game slow and drag on. I almost gave up after the bathroom, but then I saw the new corridor appear. Very creepy. Well done.

Hi, your game looks great! I usually contact through Discord but you did not list any username here or on the gamepage. Anyway I’m a regular streamer of GWJ entries and I’d like to play yours, with one of you in chat if possible.

I’m starting in approx 2h and it should last 6h. You just drop in chat at https://twitch.tv/vikfro and type the command !queue join. If you can’t join I’ll try to play it towards the end.

Feel free to DM me on discord: vikfro or other socials found at https://vikfroshideout.xyz

I liked the story, and tying in what you learn as you play, however I think the space was way too big so you are walking with nothing going on for a while a lot of the time. I did hit (maybe a bug) Where I got the code and padlock didn't pick it up, and I couldn't see how to close it to double check I didn't type the wrong code.

Developer

Thanks. Yeah we didn't have much time to polish up the game feel, finishing the main story path took longer than expected.

For the padlock you can just click anywhere to the side of the lock to "click out" and leave it. I just assumed that it'd be intuitive, but a friend also got stuck on the lock. So there should've been some indication on where/how to exit the lock.

Thanks for the Feedback :)
