Good thing I had a controller lying around, though it plays nicely on keyboard as well. It reminded me of A Difficult Game About Climbing. I could totally see this in VR too!
This is really well done!
The theme of a knight climbing a tower like out of a storybook was charming and the border art, the cover picture, and the music all support the theme well. The climbing mechanics are well implemented and you feel like a physical thing climbing the tower and having to look around for hand holds. I didn't reach the top and fell a long way to my death and my guy sounded like he said "uh-oh" which is like, yeah buddy you just broke all your bones! That's a big uh-oh!
Thanks a lot boss ! Glad you enjoyed it.
I really wish that I had a controller! I didn't know that I needed one until I had already started recording my stream, but I included some positive comments on the art and music for your game in my livestream anyway:
Oh no I'm so sorry ! I added controls remap in the options which should technically allow the use of keyboard but it's not as smooth as with a controller. Thank you for the feedback on the visuals though !
This was AMAZING. I did not have any issue. This seems like a concept you could add a lot more to, I'm honestly obsessed. I fell a lot, and would not allow myself to stop till I finished.
Thank you some much ! :)
I'm thinking about adding fighting mechanics to it where the tower is guarded and you have to switch between climbing and taking out your sword to face enemies.
I like the borders on the edges of the screen, it adds to the game's vibe!
One thing I noticed while playing is that my right joystick wouldn't move the knight's right arm; although the majority of the tower was climbable, I struggled a lot to move around
Sorry about this ! I added controls remap in the options so now any controller should technically be usable.
Surprised you managed to go up with one arm ! :)
