This is a pretty cool asteroids game, though I'm not sure I got a hang of the towers. I would have liked to be able to hit the asteroids from farther away, especially because they seemed to spawn fairly equidistant from the base and so would all arrive at about the same time. The other issue I encountered was there didn't seem to be a way out of the controls screen. I think a great way to further develop this would be to figure out a minimap, maybe something like in elite dangerous, especially as the asteroids could sometimes be lost in shadow. All that said, this was a really cool submission and a great space game foundation. Nice job!
Thank you for playing!
Yeah, there are some really nasty bugs and design decisions... And yeah I'll write your points on my list :) Thank you!
Interesting take on the theme. The controls were difficult to get used to, but after working with 3D transformations in my first 3D game I understand and appreciate the complexity of it.
The graphics fit nicely with asteroids as did the sound - music was nice update though.
I was enjoying destroying those asteroids and sudden I died... I was not sure what killed my ship though and I will have to came back for revenge :)
Thanks for submitting.
Ahh nice, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, no damage indicator yet.. it's a thing on my list for the better version of this game!
Thank you for playing!
Solid concept! It's a nice blend of mechanics. It's a little clunky as it is, but I imagine it could be amazing with more time to polish it. Great work.
Btw, I could be wrong but it sounds like the volume sliders just scale the volume linearly instead of logarithmically. Take a look at the linear_to_db and db_to_linear functions if you aren't already using them!
Thanks for playing,
Indeed I use linear scaling for my audio.. Thanks a lot for the tip!
Interesting game idea. I am glad I could have the towers as I felt like the asteroids didn't always get destroyed when the cursor turned green and I assumed I would connect. You captured being lost in space really well (I struggled to find where I was supposed to be aim for a bit). I think I ran into a couple bugs (one being when I clicked on the controls screen I couldn't see how to get back to the main menu and had to restart the game).
Thank you for playing.
I think the control-screen-bug results of me being constantly in fullscreen mode... I'll have a look into this!
I loved the pixel visuals of the game and the idea is cool protecting something in space against enemies with tower defense mechanics could be a really cool full game if developped further !
Thank you very much! I currently working on improving this game, some stuff will be gone, other stuff will be added.
Not quite my cup of tea as I don't have much experience with games like this, but I can tell there was some real care put in here to give the player total control of their ship! Great work :)
Thank you, yeah I put some time in it, but it's far from done :)
Really well made! The ship controls were smooth and it's a great-looking game. I found too that it was well optimized and I didn't really experience the lag that I normally do with 3D browser games.
It fit right into the sweet spot where each wave ramped up the challenge and I felt like I had time to try different units. Granted, I wished there was a tooltip to see what each one was/did, but it was something that explained itself as time went on.
My only suggestion would be for the later enemy units to stand out more. By wave 6, I didn't realize there was a new enemy type. I was flying around looking for asteroids thinking, "Huh, what's this cute sound?" And then I shot the thing making the cute sound and was like, "Oh, he's not one of my guys." LOL
Thank you very much!
Yeah the todo list for version 2 is already long and kept getting longer :D Indication of enemy types is now on the list :)
I got carried away flying around in 3D before I remembered its a tower defence. Love the concept.
Laughed at some of the facts when I noticed the billboard.
I did also have some browser performance issues. Strangely they settle down after a bit.
Glad you liked it and thanks for playing.
Yeah I will probably continue with this game, but I don't know if it will be web export in the future, as there are too many performance issues. And I want to increase the visual quality as well.
Hey, the idea is very original
I found the atmosphere very good. The skybox, and the ship's movement
At some points, my browser freezer a bit, maybe because of the amount of particles? I'm not sure
Overall, I had fun playing through the waves, congratulations on the entry! 🚀
Thank you for playing... yeah I also think that I maxed out the browser-cap at some points :D
I like your gametitle so here is my obligatory Spieltitelkreativitätsbeeindruckungskommentarbeitrag.
Jokes aside, i had fun playing your game :)
Lasted through 10 waves
overall good submission. I expected lots of TD but not this!
Thank you for playing!
Yeah aiming is really tough... will work on it, don't like it either!
Played well for me though the audio for the lasers faded out after a while and didn't come back. Love the voxel aesthetic and the "fun fact" billboard on the base was great!
Thank you for playing, yeah the audio bug came up several times so far... is noted and will be worked on^
I wanted to add here that I had zero sound issues in the web export!
It was fun flying through space and the voxel ships were cool. The lag got a little out of hand after a while.
Thank you for playing, ok... did u use the web version?
I did use the web version
only made it to wave 5 but still very fun! it can be a little disorienting with the sensitivity being a little wonky. great visuals and concept
Thank you! Yeah it has rough edges here and there... critique noted, will be improved :)
Nice. Got very frenetic and the 6DOF gameplay just adds to the madness.
Could use some more feedback when your ship is being attacked and from where.
Nice simple concept with good implementation, although I did find the controls a bit hard, and the mouse sensitivity seemed to vary periodically, maybe that's just me though.
Hey thanks :)
Ok, I have to look in a vary sensitivity... but it's noted.
I had a blast playing Asteroids Tower defense. The graphics were charming and overall pretty fun gameplay😍
The controls were a little hard? yes. Am I bad at this kinda of game? for sure.
But who cares, it was a blast to feel like luke skywalker shooting asteroids and stuff.
Thank you for playing!
You were not alone with the feeling that the controls were yanki... I will improve it! Luke Skywalker... that's a name..... Thank you :D
