The light mechanic was very on theme and the sounds were very atmospheric! The ending was pretty rude though, I was happy to have saved my key but then I picked the wrong door... I didn't bother going back to find another one.
Overall good though, like I said the sound design was great!
Quite an enjoyable game with a great dark atmosphere. Good job!
Thank you Shemo. I suppose that you did not have some annoying bug and that make me happy Can you ask since how long do you use Godot ?
This was fun! I found the ladder and while going up it clipped to the top of the world. I was able to walk up there and look around, which was really cool! Nice duck…. I will have to try finding it the right way soon!
I had the same issue with my mouse but just played in windowed mode and looped around the screen to move which added a bit to the challenge.
Haha very cool !! I think you have found the first "out of bounds" zone. Maybe this oob will bait some speedrunners. Thank you to making time to set up the game for playing it and thanks for the screenshot :D
Nice graphics, fitting audio, creepy atmosphere. But… Playing in Chrome, during most replays, I found my avatar rising up to the ceiling. And then I couldn’t open the chests anymore. At another replay, my avatar was stuck in a wall and couldn’t walk away. Too bad, it is a nice game otherwise.
At least you have been able to explore a little bit the dungeon. Thank you for the feedback.
Nice one! The atmosphere you built is just awesome, I feared the whole time that something could be behind me or right around the corner at any point. It was a bit underwhelming to die though, I thought losing your sanity would trigger some creepy event rather than be the straight gameover factor.
Thank you ! Finally a jammer that didn't has a mouse issue or chaotic collision. I'm glad to read that. Yeah at first I wanted to implement an enemy entitie or a real fearing stuff but time ....I was trapped to debug it becasue that was messy.
As others have said mouse y axis is getting stuck at max it seems like. But really good job at putting together something 3D in a limited amount of time!
I think the game has potential and for your first 3D-Game it has a very nice atmosphere and the music / sounds are matching to it. Just one point was, that i have to restart the game several times to get the mouse moves properly with the pointer. Over all good job!
I know that, this is very annoying for me because that never happened to me but thanks for your feedback.
I wasn't able to get more than a few torches in. Even in full screen the game would lose focus on the mouse, making it it rather un-playable long term.. I could finagle and out of full screen could move the mouse where I wanted out of the game, then come back in the game to make some progress, but overall I like the concept, it is just a bummer that the screen would not grab focus. Also... I noticed a torch on the ground before the starting point, is there or will there be a crawl mechanic for areas like that? I am super interested to see further progress in this game.
Thanks for encouragmeents ! The mouse focus problem is very strange I don't understand if I missed an option before exporting my game. I test the game on differents browsers and I never lost my mouse focus. In the game code I use this line "Input.set_mouse_mode(Input.MOUSE_MODE_CAPTURED)" that normaly hide the windows cursor and focus the mouse control. I presume the HTML export is not fully comptatible with this feature, I mean for some users.
The game has good atmosphere. There are some visuals bugs but I do like the graphics. One thing that was annoying though was that sometimes the game would lose control of my pointer but it couldn't get it back when clicking on it, and this made moving around very hard without resetting. I did manage to get about 3/4 floors high I think and had fun with that. Nice use of theme and gameplay otherwise!
Yes I know I speed run the world map building and I choose to use CSG Mesh. But it's my first 3d game on godot so.. It makes job but it is pretty messy. Did you play it on fullscreen mode ?
No I didn't play it on fullscreen
Ok I suppose if the mouse is out of frame you can lost the control and you have to reset the game. Normally in the full screen mode this can't happen.
I can't look around in the browser version. The camera was following my mouse, which kept getting stuck in the corners, preventing it's movement :(
Is this a problem on my end?
I have to admit that I had not enough time to manage some control options. But you should be able to control the camera like me and the other players. Did you set the fullscreen ?
I set it to full screen but still had the same problem
The game has atmosphere with the steps and dark music and I like the concept of running out of light in a dark place.
I did have a glitch where if I walked too close to a chest I walked on top of it then didn't drop back down after so was floating around a little bit.
Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the glytche, the debug part was tough.
No problem! I think its hard to ensure not glitches in a game jam! Good work!
