Neat idea! I'd like it if the controls were more consolidated: If I need to use the mouse, the keyboard inputs need to require only one hand.  The spells were sometimes very hard to tell apart, it would be good to make both the selected and target spell take up more screen real estate when we're comparing such similar images.  Once you started to get the rhythm of it this was genuinely fun, I like to imagine a setup where all the spells stay wherever you left them last and you get a small enough table space that you just can't help but end up making a mess for yourself as the rounds go on!

The game really grew on me.  I would have liked the patterns to be a little larger, and the key fonts a less blocky.  At first it felt weird just leaving the cards out but why not?  I like to imagine this is one of many wizards working as a mechanical turk to save the world.

the visual style is pretty nice here, with an interesting gameplay. It took some time for me to realize you need to match the icon on the tv, not the one on the left side. Also, this might be a personal thing, but I had to switch from mouse (finding the right card) to keyboard (typing) and back all the time. It might be more convenient if you could either search the cards with the keyboard as well or only use a limited set of keys that can be used with one hand.
Still a pretty cool entry!

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the switch between mouse and keyboard can actually be uncomfortable.. In fact we are considering reducing the key set, however the drag and drop card mechanics are complex to achieve with a keyboard or controllers.

I liked the concept, very original for me, the controls work well

Good job! :D

Thank you! It’s always nice to receive compliments. If you have any suggestions that could help us improve the game, we’re here and we’ll take them into consideration. We want to grow after this first experience.

PS. I loved your game.

I'm not sure what to do? I play a card on the ritual and then press the matching keys, but how do I select the right card? How do I know if I've done a spell right?

Developer(+1)

The right card is the one with the symbol shown on the TV. If you see it keeps changing to make it a little more dynamic.

We are aware that some feedback regarding success/failure is missing. It was the first game made using Godot, no previous tests. But thank you for your interest.

Any feedback (rather than jam ratings) will be welcomed to try to refine the idea and mechanics.

Thanks, I tried again, but the black of clear feedback when you type things in makes it hard to keep going. When I lost I didn't really understand why I lost.

Anyway, I think a couple of tweaks would fix this:
(1) a clearer font for the text instructions on the left
(2) A clear message to show Success or Failure on input
(3) A clearer UI that shows clearly which health is the player vs the demon

What's great about this game: the graphics, concept and audio

Thanks so much for playing it again. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and I recognize that it makes sense. feedback like this is helping us a lot in evaluating what works and what doesn’t, so thanks again.

I admit that the problems you point out to us are already part of our personal disappointments. but we had to publish a few hours earlier than expected and we didn’t have time to refine some things.

Thank you again 👍
