Very fun and different game, loading boxes with the mouse was strange at the beginning but then it became natural!
well done!

I really love the style and look to this game! Would love to see where you take it. I've got some feedback...

  • Using the mouse feels a bit unnatural in it's current state. The box placement could be done with WASD, as well as taping the box
  • I would add a tape and scan symbol to or above the status pop-up
  •  When going to the loading bay without a valid box I can't just simply walk away. I finally realized I must press the X key to move again. I'm guessing this is a design choice, but I naturally wanted to walk away when I realized my mistake to correct it. I totally experienced it as a game breaking bug.

Overall, really cool concept and I want to play more!! 😃

Great job! The art style on this was very well polished, the game loop was easy to follow and fit the theme nicely! I have the same issue when working on a jam where I put the audio last, and have forgot until the end. Well done overall!

Harder than real life. I worked for UPS for 2 months in exactly this job. At the end of the day, I was at least in the plus. Good game, but I don't like it when you can't win. That's just frustrating.

thanks, yeah it’s meant to be more of an arcade game where you play as long as you can and get a score

The game loop is indeed excellent. I also believe it's one of the better games in the jam. However, the fact that you end up in more and more debt each day leaves the player with a negative feeling. You could implement something positive, similar to Papers, Please, where even with a challenging job, the player can still do something good. I hope this game is further developed, as I believe it has potential.

Very cool concept! Reminds me of restaurant games such as overcooked. The art is very nice and begging for some music and sfx! I liked how you combined both a "timed tasks" and organization mechanics too! And that taping minigame was oddly satisfying. I do have some feedback though!

  • I think you should be able to use the mouse instead of pressing E - that would be more intuitive.
  • It would've been cool if pre-scanned boxes had a sticker on them or something, so you could tell if they should be scanned without looking at the little screen to the side. That'll also make it more immersive!
  • Closing the truck screen with X felt a bit unintuitive. I think simply walking away would've worked better -- Unless I missed something? I also think you should be able to send the truck by pressing spacebar.
  • I think the ui at the bottom lacked icons or colors, and while being busy with playing the game it felt very "texty" to understand at a glimpse... If that makes sense?
  • It would be cool if I was able to rotate boxes and to stack them on top of each other.

Very nice entry though. Really wish it had sound or at least some music but I get having to prioritizes tasks with the time constraint and all...

Really fun idea! I'm quite not convined about the control scheme though. I feel like the Pick Up and Drop actions should be doable with the mouse (Left Click to Pick Up, Right Click to Drop). A game like this may benefit more from allowing the player to just focus on movement with their Left Hand on WASD and make all the other actions mouse-centric. This way you don't need to worry about having to keep track of buttons everywhere and can focus more on trying to perfect the flow of actions and delivery by getting better at performign actions with the mouse. I also naturally found myself tryign to just walk away from the truck with WASD but kept having to remember that I have to click X to get out of the truck-view.

Just some quick thoughts!

Super fun idea though, I can see this being really chaotic and funif you further expand upon it with more stations (maybe special stations for special package-types?).

Nice work!

Cool game loop. I like the tape and scan requirements / mini games. I liked trying to fit boxes into the truck like Tetris.
