Loved your videos that why I joined this jam, you really do never get to do music lol, good luck!

Developer

Thank you! That's awesome to hear! yeah I ran out of time so bad, at some point though it is kind of nice to just let go of doing audio and instead focus on gameplay.

Nicely done, clearly a very skilled game developer (no wonder you won the last game jam!)  Good luck in the future and I'll be following your journey.

Developer

Idk about the skilled stuff, but thank you so much!!

Really fun game loop! I had fun in the tutorial sandbox mode without a timer, sent out several truckloads, then realized I hadn't even started the real game yet haha. I like how each action is a unique mechanic so you're constantly doing something new. I think a few things could be indicated a bit more clearly - like at first I didn't even notice the box pop up on screen to tape it up, and thought I had to click on the small box my character was holding instead. My focus was fixated on the character so I missed the popup since it wasn't glowing or had arrows indicating I should click on it. I figured it out right away, but it took a second, which was a lot of time for the pace of the game! The conveyor belt created a good sense of urgency and frantic speed, which was perfect for the style of gameplay. Music and sound could have really enhanced the mood even further! I think if you want to use the mouse for taping and placing boxes in the truck, it might even be good to use mouse interactions for everything else too - click a box to pick up, some sort of interaction to start the scanner, etc. Right now my mouse hand is idle 50% of the time, then interacting with a small mechanic the other 50%, so it feels like i'm waiting a lot and just playing left-handed, when I think I'd prefer to be constantly anticipating the next task and playing with both hands.

Really nice visual polish, solid framework for the game loop and no major technical issues or bugs. Excellent work!!

Developer(+1)

I'm so dumb, I never thought about clicking to pick up a box. That might actually be way better because as it stands now if you're next to 2 boxes you just get the box you got in range of the latest. It leads to some unfortunate moments trying to get the correct box.  Thank you for the feedback!

I had so much fun playing it! Great job. The game looks super polished. There are multiple mechanics. Very nice job!

Developer

Thanks I really appreciate that!

This game is really fun! Great job, I keep coming back. As for things you can do to make it better I know I could say you need to add sound effects but I am sure you know that already. Instead I will suggest adding a dash or something similar. Either way great job!

Developer

thank you so much!

this game is pretty good, id be even cooler with juicy sfx. I felt overloaded trying to manage those boxes lol. 2 things that I'd believe the game would benefit are:

  • -You are only allowed to place boxes once they are good for shipment
  • Add more input options for rotation (eg: rmb ) and exiting the truck (backspace for ex)

A solid entry nonetheless.

Love this submission, and I had a good time playing it.

  • Funny use of theme and good intro
  • Slick graphics and lighting
  • Unique gameplay loop
  • Chuckle-worthy writing

I ran into two very small issues:

  • The boxes got jammed up on the belt and I couldn't pick any of them up at one point.
  • I wish whether a box had been scanned or taped was indicated on the box itself, the one down in the corner is kind of small.
Developer

I hopefully fixed the bug, if you have time to recheck it out I would love someone to confirm that its fixed! No pressure though and thanks for playing to begin with :)

Submitted(+1)

I no longer get this issue! Now I can struggle at the game instead! Thanks.

Really enjoyed my time with this!

I think it fits the theme well and I absolutely adore having to do the taping minigame. I think if this was expanded on and polished a bit more it would be awesome. (and have some music :( )

Overall super nice work!

I think this game fits the theme perfectly. Having randomized warehouses is a nice feature for replayability even though the game gets quite repetitive after a while (but it fits the theme). I also liked pixel art and some quotes by the manager.

I had some technical issues with menus not closing after I was done with them (X button didn't close them too). Also, I think I found an alternative ending by just running off screen quitting this job at the start of the tutorial.

Great job! Good luck with your future projects!

Nice game idea that looks amazing! I love the use of the mouse to tape shut the boxes. Unfortunately I couldn't get past the tutorial as the boxes got stuck for me! I was playing on Mac using chrome if that helps you solve the problem. Let me know if you sort it as I'd love to play properly!

Submitted

Really cool idea ! I wish i could play past the tutorial, It seems i'm one of those who has the box bugging and staying at the start of the conveyor belts. Still what I could play was really fun.

Developer

can I ask what browser you were using? I can't seem to recreate this bug, I tried in chrome and in edge. Also thank you so much for the kind words :)

Submitted

I'm using google chrome. While testing again, I found a level where it worked just fine (The one with the conveyor belt at the bottom of the screen). I don't understand why it could happen, if you want more details: when I'm activating the start button boxes start to arrive but after a second the boxes seems to have a buggy collision and start going forward/backward a few pixels quickly, making them stay on the same position. Then the others come behind and overflow outside of the rails by collision with the one in front.

Developer(+1)

I figured out the bug, it was so stupid basically a few walls were in the way of the boxes on the conveyor belt. But I hadn’t noticed because at 60fps they go through, but at 30 they get stopped. I fixed it and asked the help bot in discord. It would be nice to do the patch, but I’m still waiting to see if it’s allowed

Submitted

Glad you found the issue, I hope the update will be allowed !

Love the art style - especially the lighting is makeing it very special and eye catching game.

Gameplay is great, I got stresed very easily. I guess I should be pretty happy that I work as SW dev and not in Fedex depo :D

Developer

thank you so much!

Game is really and it gets stressful at times which is great way to feel the overload theme.  I did have a ui bug where after taping a box it never closed even if i hit x.  Loved the art as well! Thank you for it not being a platformer.

This game is very reminiscent of Plateup to me, with a difficulty curve to match.

I experienced two layouts, the one track layout and the two track layout. I was able to load both trucks with the one track layout, but massively struggled with the two track layout. Walking time was everything in this game because the tasks were either quick or set-and-forget. The two track layout was awful because you had to hope you were on the side that matched the extra task a box demanded, or the walk might not even be worth the box.

There is a bug in which the taping minigame would stay up after taking the box off the taping desk. It goes away the next time you tape a box.

While the work is strong, there are missing pieces to a complete experience. That said, you've done well to capture the vision that you were going for (your time at FedEx).

Loved the game design. I found the [x] to disengage with the truck to be a bit counter-intuitive when just walking up to the truck was all you had to do to engage. Without the tutorial I think I originally missed the Status box in the bottom right. Thankfully the tutorial was thorough and afterwards I had a great time trying to keep up. I lost my first one so it's challenging but I had fun. Great work!

Submitted

Really awesome idea! I enjoyed the tutorial very much and like the style a lot. Unfortunately, the game didn't run so well for me past the tutorial. For some reason all the boxes got all stuffed up and the game was laggy for me.

Other than that, I got the feel for the game in the tutorial and love the concept. I think walking away from the truck to close out that truck menu would be nice instead of having to use [x] but that's just my preference :)

Nice submission!

Developer(+1)

thank you! I figured out the bug, I’m waiting to see if I’m allowed to patch it, but basically there was a wall in the way of the boxes, but at 60 fps it passes through. I never noticed.

Liked the challenge and loved the graphics!

This was a lot of fun! It felt good to play and the art style is great. Very nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Can't wait to try other games, I'll definitely check yours out :)

Submitted(+1)

This was a ton of fun, the balancing of trying to scan/tape packages and fill the trucks felt challenging but doable. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much!

I worked at ups for a holiday season and i get it man worst job of my life. thankfully this game is so much more fun than that lol love the artstyle and the little mini game of putting tape on the package added so much to the flow!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! yeah I seriously think I spent more time in orientation than actually working.  After that I realized instead of spending my free time working a second dead end job maybe I should try seriously learning pixel art  and doing game dev.
