Looks like your first game on itch. Congratulations!
Aim and shoot felt good.
The difficulty curve felt good. There was always some pressure to react quickly to the enemies before they got on top of me, and to get to the next engine part.
Sometimes with these flashlight type of games, it can leave the player confused about why they died. If you go further with this, maybe highlight the cause of death after the event. Or slow time around the time of death with Engine.set_time_scale() so the player can see what happened.
Well done.
That's really great advice, thanks!
The gameplay is simple, so I could immediately get invested. It's pretty fun
It's a twin stick shooter, a classic design.
Basic concepts on display are lookaround via mouse, interaction collision, and bullet projectiles.
Competently done, but lacking in ambition. Shoot higher, and come back in January!
Aliens are a bit hard to see even in the light, but I think that's mostly due to their size. Was still a fun shooter game. Thanks for sharing!
Nice top-down shooter game : controls are good, music is so cool and the gameplay works very well. In my opinion, the monster hitbox is a little bit small, but it doesn't break the game. Maybe you could add another monster type to make the secondary attack useful. Add a way to heal the character could also be interristing. Good job on this game.
Great game. Thanks for making it more difficult as time progresses. The enemies need a death animation and maybe all some colliders for the walls so the bullets can't just fly through everything. And then besides all the "juicyness" enhancements you can add like camera-shake, etc, you're on a roll!
Overall a good short experience. Music selection was fantastic. controls were easy to pickup and understand. Didn’t figure out how to get health back or what the purpose of the secondary fire mechanic was for. Emergent gameplay seems to be just sit in a corner shooting aliens until generator needs fixing. It was difficult to spot aliens, so instead I just continued to pre-fire in front of me to get to places.
Good job overall
