Game Description
Welcome to Purrfect Pest Control! Voted the number one pest extermination service in the country. A new job request has just come in, turns out there is a plague of mice and rats terrorising the home of a Godot Wild Jam supporter. The rodents are said to be rising up in opposition to this month’s Wild Jam theme. It’s your job to get in there and eradicate these pests with our brand new, state of the art feline launcher systems. Good luck out there! And Happy Hunting!!

How does your game tie into the theme?
The user has to use cats that are shot out of a gun to get rid of a mice and rat infestation.

This one is clearly inspired after "Hotline Miami" which is makes this more of a heartbreaker. Hotline Miami was very much about puzzling out how to approach each room. This version has more of a focus on reaction speed. That's not even to mention how the audio elevated Hotline Miami into the spotlight.

Come back in December and learn from this!

Developer

Yeah we based the style of our controls and movement on Hotline Miami so it’s cool to see people notice that in our first Godot game. We’ll definitely be back in December with something better hopefully!

Nice to see another top down shooting game! I love your design for the main character. Shooting feels satisfying, even if aiming seems off sometimes. If you ever want to make the game easier for us more challenged shooters,  I  feels like I either need to see more of the board or the rats needs to be slow down a bit.  I thought the audio was pretty good, the music got me excited to play right the way.  Some of the text seem to be overlapping each other in the credit screen, not sure if that was intentional or not.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah for future I think zooming out the camera a bit more is very needed and adding some more contrast between some of the visuals would help too.

This was fun. I found some collisions wonky and was I missing the health bar somewhere? Nice job though!

Developer

Thank you! Yes there is a health bar but the UI responsiveness needs some work.

This was fun! I agree that some of the rat collisions were a bit off, but overall really well done. I didn't even realize I was shooting cats until I turned up the volume and saw the cats being reloaded! Nice little detail.

Developer

Thank you!

The art of the main character and environment looks really nice!

My biggest issue with the visuals is the low contrast between the rats and the black-and-white tiled floor. Most of my deaths occurred there, as it was challenging to distinguish the rats from the tiles. I believe that having an indicator for the last remaining rats would be helpful; I spent a significant amount of time searching for them.

I think the game has a strong foundation, and it would be fantastic to see it expanded upon, especially with the addition of newer enemies and weapons!

Developer

An indicator for the remain cats is a cool idea thank you!

overall a cool game, i was abit annoyed by the collissionshapes of the rats, maybe it would be better to not have collision with them :) i liked the art, especially the cheesehead :)

the camera is a bit to close for a top down shooter in my opinion,

Developer

Yeah learning to scale the game and menus is a big to do for us and thank you!
