A bit buggy but the game has really funny dialogues and storyline! Good job!

Fun game, funny dialogues, got stuck with a few bugs, one threw me into the stratosphere!!! But I landed back on the train with the Son of Groin waiting for me, a little quirky but still fun, I liked the 3D style.
From the start this looked like the best 3d game I have played so far from this jam, but (presumably) halfway I got stuck where the dwarf wanted me to jump across however I died but I couldnt respawn, but reading your comments I see that this is something you already plan to fix.
Other than that, the humor was pretty funny and I like the idea of using the announcer voices, maybe i would have taken too much time but I think you should also have used those for the npc's.
Also I didn't see any companion, unless that was meant to be the gun (or was to show up later)
Thank you! But I’m sad you gave up when you fell of the train. I’ve already added a restart button to the menu, I’ll upload v1.1 when the voting ends. It’s built and ready. The dwarf was the companion :D “And my Axe!” is, as written on the wildcard, a Gimli reference from Lord of the Rings, I’m sure.
I got to the point Gimri wanted me to jump and I messed up and died and the screen locked. But I think there are some optimization issues. Is there an FPS cap on this because my GPU and fans were going crazy.
I would have liked to have seen where it had gone. Good job with the humorous names of characters and dialogue and voice overs. Styling the UI elements and not using the defaults with have been a nice touch though.
Thank you for the honest feedback! I’ve already fixed the game over screen lock issue and many others. Waiting for the voting period to end so I can upload the new version.
We didn’t optimize graphics at all, I’m sorry to hear it ran poorly on your machine.
There is no fps cap other than vsync, if you have a very high refresh rate monitor(I completely forgot those are a thing, sorry, I usually run mine at a lower refresh rate than what it’s rated for) you can try lowering the refresh rate through your Operating System; or alternatively you can use your GPUSoftware/RivaTunerStatisticsServer to apply a frame cap.
Interesting game - props for building out a train and the moving trees outside. Lots of little bugs were annoying:
No way out of the setting menu besides reloading the game (escape just brought me to a blank screen.)
Getting stuck with doors
Shooting enemies only seemed to work sometimes
The collision engine or lack there of could use some work (could jump up through the top of the train.)
I was able to make it to the end and win and liked the little side conversations with the family and the girl and her cat... Yummy!
Impressive with the time constraints thanks for submitting.
It was fun! It was a little buggy, some guards block my way a lot but I managed to break the physics. Loved the concept! Great job
It got me when I was expecting a shoot sound and I got a "pop" instead. 10/10
Weird game (in a good way). I loved the bizarre vibes and the joking nature of pop culture characters.
-Nice work on interaction system (doors, keys, picking up stuff, eating frogs)
-Kinda wish the enemies did something if their buddies got shot up
-Sometimes the enemies would die if you simply looked at them without clicking shoot
Overall thumbs up, would give passengers an axe again
Thank you! It makes me happy to know the impression of the game is exactly how we wanted to design it. Looks like we succeeded :)
-There was so much more planned with the interaction system, sadly we ran out of time and had to abandon quite a bit of story and level design.
-Yet another casualty of our over-ambitious plans, mostly my plans, but yes.
-This could be a bug. I’m pretty sure it’s not a feature, at least :D Moving forward, I shall investigate and try to fix
Very strange and surrealist game. I love it when jams bring up this kind of stuff.
Unfortunately the game is prone to softlock. Why put a weird ammo system ?
Sound design is awesome, although mixing could use a bit of work (enemy voices were too loud for example).
Suggestion : remove door collision when it's opening xD Although it made me laugh the first few times when I got splat into a wall.
Thank you! I love how game jams sort of unleash a slightly different a game designer in a person than normally that person is.
Oof, yeah. There was some game design issues made worse by lack of time and over-ambitiousness of the project. But internally, already improving. we’ll upload a patch once the voting period ends.
I’m glad you like the sound design, pracedru takes all the credit for that. I’m sure he’ll be beside himself with joy when he reads your comment. As for me, I’m already happy that you think the game is strange and surreal! Thank you!
There was one thing me and pracedru was in agreement before we started working on this. And that was, “Don’t try to make a serious game, that takes some serious work, work we cannot afford on this game jam.” And the result is door splatter and many other quirky weird stuff happening in the game. So, door collider splatter is a feature, not a bug :D
pretty surreal vibes, i like the creativity. models are great but the collisions and tight space make everything kind of annoying to go through. i personally didn't manage to get the through that one guard in the middle of the path because i couldnt shoot the gun.
Pretty funny dialogue and voice-over, guy at the beginning made me jump lol
The models/animations/textures all look really good!
Bit short though I'm enjoying the ride.
I've escaped on the Jerusalem express.
