Great idea to incorporate the horse as the companion and work it into the life system and having it help in other ways. Pixel art is nicely done. This didn't feel as unforgiving as most platformers made a jam. Its hard but didn't feel bad.
Fun, very unforgiving though. Would be good if you fall off the top platforms to be able to recover on the main train or other platforms. Like the idea of the horse to catch you when you fall. Nicely done.
OUCH
Cool game! Some really nice work on the pixel art running animations, it's not an easy thing to do especially in a limited time period.
Really cool idea, I love that he horse start throwing axes because I gave him an apple, the jump between rails is infuriating. The jump feels a little bit restrictive, cool game and music.
Screw that one train car in particular (you know the one). Nice work! Love that you jump on the horse's back after taking damage (and that it throws axes when you feed it an apple). Good luck with the last six months of your make-a-game-a-month challenge!
Good game, I really liked that the horse would help you back if you fell off, I think that removed quite a bit of frustration I would have otherwise had for restarting after dying once. I think the physics namely the jumping could be improved, but its not terrible
This was really good! The only issue I came across was that I fell between the carriages and missed the horse so I guess I was just falling forever as I could still hear myself whipping.
I had actually seen you work on this a little bit on Twitch in the very early stages, so I'm very impressed to see how much you were able to put together since then! I got a good laugh when the horse started chucking axes when you got the apple item.
FYI, I did run into one issue when in game the top middle had some font rendering issue I believe. I think the score was supposed to be there, but all I saw were random blocks. I ran into a similar issue recently with web exports + custom fonts so I think there is potentially a bug in Godot. I might have to look into it more and see if I can write up a bug report for the Godot folks.
Hey thanks glad you got a chance to see some of the development! And yes the score isnt displaying correctly how strange, will also do some testing my end and see if I can get to the bottom of what is causing it, deffo some kind of bug although I actually just used godot default font and just changed the colour and size.... anyway, thanks so much for playing and commenting, will have a look at your game this evening I plan to play through as many as I can
