The sounds made me think the world was ending :) Great graphics. I wish I had a machine gun rather than a pea shooter though. This was fun :)
Thanks for the feedback 😂 I’ve fixed a bunch of bugs and made it more playable now, I’ve also as you said increased the rate of fire so it’s more like a machine gun, much more satisfying. I ran outta time so submitted an extremely unpolished game. Next time it’ll be gameplay first and graphics second. I’ve also reduced the sound volume a lot, and I will add some audio settings too Post jam
I really like the atmosphere and that beautiful boat model. The fog is perfect, the water is well done; couldn't figure out how to do water like that in Godot 4. In terms of game-play I couldn't do much or advance past a few feet since the sharks would damage me even being quite far behind the boat. I like the little gun. Gotta be honest, when I first heard the audio I thought my speakers were broken :o
Wish there was a bit more to do, because I do like the controls and the boat.
Appreciate the feedback, I did submit knowing it doesn't play well if at all, but I wanted some general feedback about it either way. Thinking I'll smooth the gameplay a bit and the audio too over the next few weeks so it's more playable.
Really enjoyed the boat movement controls. It resonated with me from the moment I dropped in and pressed forward. The pixel effect and color scheme did a perfect job of setting the mood too. My one main issue has to be the same issue I see most on games with NPCs that chase you: they have almost the same movement speed as the player and it never changes, so it’s hopeless to outrun them. I recommend changing the sharks’ max speed when they’re almost in range to bite the player (never TOO far away, but don’t get too close too easily in other words). The sharks also felt like they had a huge attack radius. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Gifthammer, I really wanted some feedback even though I know the game isn't very good yet. The sharks need sorting out, might make them navmeshagents so they don't collide with each other and also change the way they attack, maybe they could attack then circle back around for another run, something like that. The range is infinite on the sharks, they just come at you endlessly then respawn :D Might change that too though, make it a bit more smart.
Sadly I can't run vulkan rendering :(
