I'm a big fun of rubic`s cubes (have many types and shapes :) )
I was expecting to assemble it in the original way, but unexpected happened :)
Interesting idea and implementation!
Challenging in it's own way.
Well done!
That's really awesome to hear! How did you find it compared to how you'd approach solving a cube the traditional way?
Thanks so much for playing!
In traditional way, my muscles memory is working mostly, here is something different. Probably brain should be used :D ha ha
Yeah, the only thing that I can see transferring is knowing where colours should be based off of an initial look. Everything else seems to be different :joy:
Could be a cool training tool for memorizing the cube and then trying to reconstruct it.
Who knows where it can bring you in the future ;)
Oh, that's a really neat idea. I still struggle in real life, so I'm going to try this now!
I'm hate rubics cubes, but some how you made me look at one for almost half an hour... Congrats !! Jokes aside, a really well thought and engaging game
Haha, that's so brilliant! I'm super glad that you enjoyed it.
Didn't realized you'd had an entry this jam, going to be playing that now <3
I noticed that the game doesn't detect if the rotation is right, at least that happened the first time I played. But very nice way to apply the theme and very fun and original game!
Hey! Thanks for playing! Glad you were able to refresh and get it to work.
For my own purposes, when you say that it doesn't detect if the rotation is right, what are you referring to? Is it gameplay wise or a situation that ends up in the cube being weird like this:
I meant that if the cubes are in the right position but rotated in the wrong way, the game still detects it as a win.
Ah, right! Yes. I was going to have it be a complete solve, but wanted to make sure that it was still accessible. I wcas going to split the best time category based on solved or not, but time didn't permit.
Another thing I thought about was to prompt at the end to try and solve it this time.
There is a little algorithm in there to detect if it's solved. It goes straight from complete -> scramble if you hit restart vs when it isn't done properly it will go through the reset state.
Everything fits very well together here!
Good snap when pieces go together.
I would have liked to see some AA, anti-aliasing. The graphics suffer some from aliasing and would have looked much smoother with AA.
Very well assembled game :D
Thanks so much for the feedback! And I really appreciate the constructive criticism. I don't think a lot about graphics, especially not in 3D, so didn't even think about doing that! What a good shout, thank you!
This definitely had me chuckling as I chaotically tried to assemble things xD great stuff
Bahaha, that is the perfect response! I am so glad you shared that, thank you <3
Now can you chuckle as you orderly try to assemble it? ;p
The game is pretty awesome, i really loved the cube breaking and rejoining animations.
Sound track was also amazing, sound effects were ok, a bit itching to the ears but overall the game's really awesom!
THANK YOU! First for the kind words, but also confirming my thought on the sound effects. I had thought they were a bit off, but didn't have time for a second/third pass. I appreciate you calling that out <3
Thanks for playing!
Soundtrack is fire, game concept is fire, controls are fire, I loved it! Great work!
You are fire! Thanks so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it :D
Tough game to do quickly! But I like that - I'd wager there's a speedrun possible here. Sometimes things didn't click into place and it wasn't clear where, so maybe some kind of feedback on that might be useful. Overall, good game, music was incredible, and felt very good to beat.
Haha, one thing I wish I could have added was a leader board. I've opted to collect them from the comments if you've done well ;p
Ahh perfect! I did a pass at that, but I wasn't sure how much more I needed to add. I'd really like to telegraph that better, so thanks for confirming that suspicion I had!
Thanks so much for playing!
(I am looking forward to playing your game when I get home! Thanks for the firefox build <3)
Apparently it doesn't work! Is there an export that would help you? Like Mac or Windows? I posted the Windows one as well, but wasn't sure how effective the Mac ones are (from my non-Mac machine). It will probably work, like everything Godot except these darn web builds! I did learn this is supposed to fix the FF issue for good: https://candordev.itch.io/foxfix
But I neither endorse nor do I know anything about it.
Ahh, damn! I was really looking forward to it. I'm on Mac, so I'll suck it up and download chrome to play it! Thanks so much for going through that effort, really appreciate it <3
Thank YOU! I'm sorry you have to download Chrome - I actually dislike it myself, but don't have a choice due to work. :/ I hope it plays well for you!
Short, effective, and super polished. Do wish there was a bit more depth to the puzzle mechanic, but all in all a very strong entry!
Thanks so much! If I were to spend another month on this, is there something you'd want to see? Some cruel ideas I can think of would be a "match the cube" mode, where you have to recreate the cube configuration of an example cube.
I think something about color would be your best bet. Making the configuration would be pretty hard tbh. Maybe if you sectioned off the colors to make it more obvious or made a "example" cube the player could refer to in game to put the pieces back in the right place.
Slick game with some killer music! Very well polished. Well done!
Yess! The music is such a banger, right? INS/OVR did an amazing job :)
Thank you for playing!
Wow what a nice game.
It kinda reminds me back what I did with the cubes in reality :)
I liked it pretty much. Perfect mood, nice graphics, music fits well. The mechanics is pretty cool and extremely well executed! Very smooth animations and all that stuff around. Good Job!!!!
That's so awesome to hear! I went out and bought a cube because of this game. It's really taken me back. Glad to hear that is the same for someone else!
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Absolutely the best submission to the Jam I have tried so far. Awesome!
_hides_ You're awesome! <3 Thanks for playing!
Perfectly flawless, the crisp visuals and animations really stood out ; AMAZING
:sob: Thank you for being so kind! And importantly, thank you for playing!
nice game when it started it got me laughing XD
That's so awesome! I'm really glad to hear that :) Thanks for playing and sharing!
Cool idea! Was a lot of fun! I'm definately going to have a look through the source code!
Haha! Thanks so much! I would recommend not looking too closely! It got to spaghetti code a little too early in the jam. Also I'm not great at 3D math, so the cube placement code has a pretty big hack that no one should look at
I love how your game looks and feels, it has a really nice title screen with the retro/CRT look, all the animations/motion of the cubes are smooth and clean and the music is indeed a real banger, impressive! :)
Woohoo! Thanks again for your nice words, and also for being the current #1 on score! :D :D
I love it. It's been an absolute joy to see it develop in to what it is now. So freaking good. The shader is so amazing too. Very good job!
Love the way you brought in the theme too.
<3<3<3<3<3 Thanks Lil'Oni! I've thoroughly enjoyed being back into it and being able to share it with you :)
Ahhhh man how do you do such cool stuff?
That was super awesome
:sob: You're too kind <3 Thanks so much! I really appreciate you! And thanks for helping me feel more confident with the 3D math. Really helped to get me to dig deep and come up with a solution (no matter how hacky it was :joy:)
Haha, that was all you! I essentially just sat there and was all “And how does that make you feel?”
Some people pay a lot of money for that ;p IOU
I was not expecting the plot twist at all! Wonderful concept. My brain is too small to solve your puzzle, but it was a very cool puzzle.
Thank you! That means a lot! Glad you enjoyed it.
I purposefully made it so you don't have to put them back in the right place, if that's the barrier to entry. I call it "chaos mode", so if you get a good time on that, let me know!
Okay! I went again and was able to get it. The cube reassembling animation is even more wonderful.
That's so awesome! I'm really happy to hear you gave it a second go and managed to kick it's butt :D
The twist was excellent and I was thoroughly unprepared
I hope it didn't throw you off too much!
Nope! It did exactly what it was meant to!
Perfect! So glad to hear that <3
